I have a Sony HD camcorder and have recorded 1 hour videos of my kid's sports games. I would like to burn these to DVD's to share with others. But when I save the movie to my PC, burn the DVD and play them on my Blu ray player they are bad quality. I've been using Sony Movie Studio 9 to edit the movies. But with or without this software the quality is bad. How can I burn the DVD's so others can view them without losing so much quality? Most people will likely have standard DVD players.

It seems that the recording quality is bad to begin with. Are you sure you are recording in HD? Can you play directly from your Sony HD camcorder to your HDTV and how's the quality? Or maybe you are downcoverting from HD to standard def quality?Quote:I have a Sony HD camcorder and have recorded 1 hour videos of my kid's sports games. Regular DVD players cannot play HD content and regular DVDs cannot contain HD content. So you will lose a lot of quality by making regular video-type DVDs from HD source material. If your friends have Blu-ray players you can make a BD5/BD9 or (maybe) AVCHD disc for them to play, you just can only put about 30 mins of content on them.
