hi, if i need to convert a "m2ts" file in a blu-ray disc structure, using RipBot 264 and
to resize it to fit in a 25gb blank blu-ray disk, i need only to set:
- output as "blu-ray disc"
- lock size to 25GB

or i have also other settings like 2-pass and what?

If the Audio of the movie is TRUE-HD, using RipBot 264, i have to set X.X COPY STREEM?

....i still have to figure what mean "X.X COPY STREEM"...it leave the audio how it is or what?
(hope m english is not so bad)

or there is a fastest way to convert only the size of a blu-ray movie to fit into a 25GB blank disk?

tyvm and hope someone can help me!

Better set the output to 23000MB. The blank disk is 25gb in the same way a blank dvdr is 4.7....you can only fit 4.33gb of data or video on a single layer dvd. A 25gb blu ray holds 23.28GiB

Two explanations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu_ray
http://forums.highdefdigest.com/high...-capacity.html

Don't use 2 pass. This was why I couldn't find how to set output for a 25gb disk earlier.

Copy stream should leave the audio intact. True-HD takes a lot of room though, and will cause a little more compression on the video side.

Well shoot, I'm sure zaina said this could be done manually in Ripbot, but I haven't found it yet either. Just trying to open a blu ray on my hard drive now, but may have to wait till tomorrow.

The options are not precise hitting CQ, and too small hitting 2-pass. Will be looking in the encoder settings if this thing will ever finish analyzing.

well, if i set "2-pass" i can set to 23000mb
with "CQ" there is no option to set it.

i'll try with tihis now (hoping someone found a way to set the size using "CQ").

I'll try it with 1 movie to see how much time i need to convert to 25GB using
a Q9550 quadcore.

i'll let you know the resutl later...of course

i'll check this thread later, i'm going to work now (sigh) i'll check from
there.

later and thx again!

Next morning and I found the same thing. 2 Pass allows you to change that setting, but that isn't 23000mb, but rather, 23000kbps.

You need to get a bitrate calculator and see what you need to set that rate. Since you are probably going to set the max bitrate higher than 20000, you'll need to go into the encoder settings and push that up higher too. Also change to Profile 4.1 since it can handle up to 50000kbps rather than the 25000kbps of profile 4.0.

More experimenting! You can adjust max size in MB after all! Ha. That simplifies the whole process. You must have found this already. Good. I'd still use Profile 4.1 though.

i do it with 4.0 profile....damn if i know before!
anyway, i started 2 movie and the last is about 1 hour left to
the end, so i can see if the video and audio its ok for me!

next time i'll use 4.1

anyway, i remember that i have set "2-pass" and
then the "lock size" at 23000mb, and the birate was automaticaly
set and i cannot change it!!

correct me if i'm wrong!

well,
i used ripbot to make a 27GB movie (with a AC3 audio track) to fit ina 25GB blank bluray disc.
I set "2-pass", locksize 23000MB and i left bluray profile 4.0.

Video = perfect
Audio = perfect "BUT Very LOW" i mean the sound level is very low!

maybe i had to set profile 4.1?
some suggestion pls?

thx!

about the audio, what settings did you use? if you use "COPY STREAM" then audio is unchanged, don't set normalize and don't cut the audio.

COPY STREAM takes the original audio, doesn't change it in anyway.

and about the locking in the size, I don't know why it is so hard to find.

Hey everyone. I've been trying to make backups of my Blu-Ray movies so my sister doesn't ruin the originals.

I'm wondering if this will work.

If i rip the Blu-Ray disc to my computer, can i use Ripbot to reencode the .m2ts/.mts file (or whichever the file is) to a locked size of 23GB and then replace the .m2ts/.mts file in the Blu-Ray folder and burn it?

I don't see why this wouldn't work. I have a few 25GB BD-R's that i picked up (they were on sale at Bestbuy 5pack for $10) and i have a few movies that are on 50GB Blu-Ray discs that i still need to backup.

so if i can do it this way, that would be great!!
