The Background

The Discount
The discount will be simple, if total order for each media type (BD- R, BD-R DL, BD-RE, BD-RE DL) reaches 100 pieces or more (e.q. total order exceeds twenty 5 packs for each type), then we will apply the cheapest price to everyone which is up to 20% off 'nikoneko ya' store price. In order to get the special discount, we are currently offering several types of disc in the largest pack size available (in other words the cheapest).

Since the main discount will only apply to a few types of discs and surely some will want other brands, pack sizes, etc. we will also give a 5% discount on anything outside the list to add to your order.

The Order Process

1. This special event will run for approximately two weeks. We will stop taking orders on January 30, 2009 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
2. You must post your order in this thread!
3. To help us keep track of your order, please include your username, order quantity, disc type, total weight and shipping option/price in your post.
4. If you want to change your order during the duration of this special event, please quote your original post and post the changes.
5. If you want something else outside the list above, take a look at nikoneko store profile and include in your post with all the details.
6. Again, you must post your order in this thread!

When the time is up and order duration have closed, the discount will be finalized and we will send a message to each participating member asking for their paypal address and what type of shipping they prefer (more on this next), and then send each a paypal invoice with the discounted price requesting payment.

Payment
Payment will be by paypal only. It will be direct by paypal invoice from the store account (no ebay or other involved). When an item is paid for it will go into the store system like any other order and processed and dealt with as soon as possible.

Shipping
Shipping price is always a problem when buying an item from Japan or another country outside your own. We will give you as many options as possible to keep that cost as low as possible. First all shipping prices will be based on your order's total weight. Second we will offer the 3 different common shipping options available to us from the Japan Post. They are:

• SAL: Surface mail in Japan and your country, airmail in between. This is the slowest method and it will take between 1 to 4 weeks. Generally this is just as reliable and almost as fast as regular airmail but sometimes it does hit that 4 week (or more) time frame and can be a bit of a gamble. It is available on orders up to 2 kg.
• Airmail: Air in both countries. Our most common method to ship by far. Cheaper than EMS Express and pretty fast. Airmail usually takes about 5 to 10 days. It is available on orders up to 2 kg.
• EMS Express: The best. Safest and fastest. Usually takes about 2 to 5 days. Available on all orders.
• EMS Express is fully insured and trackable. For SAL and Airmail, insurance and tracking is available by making it a registered delivery for $4 more.

Orders over 2 kg must be shipped EMS. It is also HIGHLY recommended to choose EMS if your order will be over $200 in value.

The Shipping Prices
Shipping price will be based on weight, use the info below to estimate your order total shipping price. Final shipping price will be given at invoice time. Read above for descriptions of the different shipping types.

First how much each type of pack weighs:

• 1 Single disc in a 10mm jewel: 90 g
• 3 disc pack in 10mm jewels: 270 g
• 5 disc pack in 5mm jewels: 275 g
• 10 disc pack in 5mm jewels: 550 g
• 20 disc pack in 5mm jewels: 1100 g
• 20 discs in a cake box (spindle): 425 g

Zevia, please I need you to clarify wich physical format each of the offers are so I can calculate wich exact weight it will be, I mean, if the 20 Sony BD-RE will be in jewel or in spindle...and so for each of the offers. Thanks for the effort and absolutely I'll make an order as soon as you clarify this aspect to determine how much I'll order to not outweight the 2Kgs. limit (to get the lowest shipping price).

I can answer that. Everything but the 2 TDK 25gb spindles and the BD-RE 50gb 3 pack are in 5mm slim jewels. The spindles, are well, spindles, and the 3 pack comes in 10mm jewels.

BD-R 25 vs BD-RE 25 was a tough decision, but less than a dollar difference a disc is good insurance against making a coaster.

Ok folks, Thanks for the suggestions. I updated the first post (see "Updated" in red bold). I added weight to each item in the list to make it easier for us to calculate total weight. Also there was a typo in the Sony 25GB 4x BD-R Printable 20 pack, was $100 regular now fixed to $98. And we also added shipping price table for 500 g.

Please don't forget to add shipping option in your order (SAL, Airmail, or EMS) and if you want the optional registered mail for SAL and Airmail.

You can also add total weight in your order just for double check!

Are the media listed all Made in Japan?
What are the Manufacturing ID for each media if I can ask?
Are those media compatible in PS3 and Panasonic DMP-BD35, particularly the Sony BD-RE DL 50GB ones?

These media should work on PS3 and Panasonic BD35. One type that are still questionable by most PS3 users are BD-RE DL, but if the MID is MEI-T01-000 or MEI-T01-001 (by Matsushita Electric Inc./Panasonic) then it should work fine in PS3. The Sony BD-RE DL in that list should be MEI-T01-001 (or 000) and Made in Japan. I don't know the MID of other media in the list.


Isn't it cheaper in 1 shipment?

compared to 2 shipments = 2x ($12+$4) = $32.

TDK has moved some of it's production to the U.A.E. to a company called Falcon Technology International. Recently the 2 spindles listed have all come from there, every now and then I still get some MIJ spindles but mostly they are M.I.UAE. From what I understand the UAE discs test just as good if not better in some cases than the MIJ ones anyway and we haven't had any complaints. (They are the exact same packaging btw the only difference is they say UAE in the made in part, and on the wholesale box the model number is marked slightly differently.)

Everything else besides the two 25gb spindles is MIJ.

I don't know MIDs for any of the discs.

We have had much better luck with the Sony 50gb BD-REs for compatibility than anything else. We stopped selling the TDK 50gb BD-REs because users were reporting various problems with them but so far no complaints at all about the Sonys. Your mileage may vary though of course.

We've met our 100-goal for the 20% discount on two of the four. Good job, guys. So far, it's:

100 BD-R
115 BD-R DL
40 BD-RE
9 BD-RE DL

BD-RE is quite possible but I can't imagine BD-RE DL reaching 100 any time soon. People (like me) are probably ordering those because they're inexperienced with burning double layer BD discs and don't want to risk making a coaster, so they do a "practice burn" to a rewriteable one first.

Next questions.
- Will there be Custom Duties for US orders?

- Can we have "group share"? Because I want the items in the list but I don't think I need that much. I understand the reasoning behind selling "largest pack available to get more discount from your distributor". But I want to try only a few discs each and still get the 20% off discount.

One way to do this, Let's say member A and member B wants to share the 10pack TDK so each will get 5 pack. Member A will pay and nikoneko will ship to A. Then A will ship to B. Is this allowed?
