Re: Prices tumbling on Sandisc SSDs

They've come down a lot on Amazon UK also.

The 240GB model is £155 and the 480GB model is £400. Still nowhere as cheap as Amazon US though.

For the ~512GB capacity range on Amazon UK, the Crucial M4 512GB seems to be the best value at £315.

I bought a 512 C4 Crucial last week for 399.99 no tax no shipping. Now this week I see the Sandisc Extreme 480gb for 379.00 and the 240GB is only 179.00, I dont care what the next gen brings, these prices cannot be overlooked.

Re: Prices tumbling on Sandisc SSDs

I just got a Kingston Hyper X 3K SSD 90GB for $70 USD from NewEgg. Put in the wifes PC and she is happy.

I want a 240/256 size drive a 480/512 would be nice too but I don't have the computer cash for a few months.

Current price at Newegg for the Sandisc extreme 120gb (reviewed above)
is $129...

120gb for a system drive is all most people need

SSD industry is going to have to compete with SDXC media cards soon! That's what's bringing down the price of SSD drives.. These flash cards read/write starting @ 100mb/sec which is comparable to hard drive speeds and will improve throughput in successive generations.
