I had hoped that Plextor would have used the newer Marvell 88SS9187 controller for this range of SSDs. Nonetheless, that's a fast SSD.

Updated, thanks Electrox3d! I found that spec here, but was looking at a different capacity: http://www.plextoramericas.com/index.php/ssd/px-m5s-series?start=1

At this point for me anyway they are all fast enough, but the reliability is the main selling point. Thats just my opinion.

I am alittle mixed up Wendy, I was under the impresion that the nand made the difference in the speed. Like toogle nand is faster than async nand and so on. I wasn't so sure that the controller was connected to the speed of the SSD. But I really didn't know but I am learning now, reading all I can.

Faster NAND on the same controller will produce a faster SSD.
However, the Marvell 88SS9187 controller is more advanced and faster than the Marvell 88SS9174 controller, so you can claw that performance back when using cheaper and slower NAND.

This drive is a bargain at 84.99 for the 128GB model.
