Pentium 4 3.4GHz processor to play HDDVD

I ran across this on YouTube.

The Toshiba HDDVD player being evaluated here uses a computer HDDVD drive. It uses a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz processor.

Can this mean that a computer with only this CPU can play an HDDVD if it had this drive installed? Is PowerDVD7 Deluxe using too much CPU and RAM? If so can another application be used?

1.Guess so.
2.I have no idea. I don't have PowerDVD Ultra i believe is what you need.

I'm waiting for HD-DVD burners to come out.

Don't think so.... Standalone Toshiba HD-DVD player uses 2.5GHz P4 with one gig RAM and its sufficient.

BTW, HD-DVD drive is made by NEC, been looking for one of these.

Be the same as using USB XBox 360? I know people here that are using that.
