The drive us unformatted, how do I format. I ras MaxBlast4 and somehow this external drive became unformatted. Any sugestions on how I format the drive. The computer does not reconize the drive. Running windows XT Home. Drive is a Seagate J56SX2RB

Welcome to the forums!
I assume you mean Windows XP Home.
Go to Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management ...go to Storage / Disk Management. That should open a new window and display all of the drives attached to your system. You can check the status of the drive there and format.__________________
