Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

It seems that cdcovers.cc and all other cover sites for that matter and any sites reporting there shutdown have been shut down. Why? Says Who? When shall they return?

Working fine for me. They've had a lot of technical issues lately.

Welcome to the forum

You don't say what browser you're using - have you tried IE7 or Firefox? Some posts here say Firefox loads the site, while there is a problem with IE6.

As I don't use the site, I haven't verified this myself, but it's worth a shot.

Re: Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://www.cdcovers.cc/ .
Operation aborted."

That's what I've been getting for the past month or so w/IE6.

Re: Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

Have had problem since this morning with cdcovers.cc. As soon as site accessed Norton traps a High Risk security item and site then can't be used to download covers. Have tried a different computer and the same happens on it. Anyone else got this problem?

Re: Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

So are they just NOT gonna support IE6 any more? One of my systems is running W2KP, so IE7 isn't even an option for it. And I prefer to have the same browser on all of them, so I'm not looking forward to switching on the XPP systems.

Re: Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

They're aware of the problem, and they're evidently trying to fix it.

http://forums.cdcovers.cc/showthread.php?t=232043

It's disconcerting that the thread I linked to was started on the 15th of November, and here we are, almost a month later, and it hasn't been fixed yet.

BTW, they recommend using FireFox to view the site.

Re: Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

Still no progress, and now it seems http://covers.box.sk/ is down, too.

Re: Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

Read the whole thread - it's only IE6 that has the problem with cdcovers.

Re: Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

I'm having same problem, but can't even get to the forum thread on cdcovers. I downloaded Firefox to try to get around it.
Using Vista 32bit home

The message I get is
Connection Interrupted

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Can anybody post the workaround for those of us that can't get to the page?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Where has CDcovers.cc gone?

The site isn't working on my end either. I used it a week or so ago, but it wasn't working on Sunday or today.

Using IE7, Firefox 3, and Chome. None work. Tried it from 2 separate locations (home and work).

NSLookup shows IP addresses 89.149.209.152 and 89.149.209.153 as the IP, and both can be pinged. In fact cdcovers.cc can be pinged. It appears that the site itself isn't down, just the content.

Perhaps it's down for maintenance or it got deleted and it's in the process of doing a restore from tape. Time will tell.
