HP printers come with a very basic application for disc printing. Most people find that a retail software is much better. SureThing should support your printer, but check the list of supported printers before buying.

All you have to do is to go to HP web site and down load your software. It doesn't cost any thing to do it. Thats what I did with my HP d5160 printer. razzel

If you are planning to buy a printer for making CD/DVD's, be aware that HP rates the CD/DVD duty cycle of these printers at 5 discs per month!

Just a guess, but i'd venture that this probably means that printing disks with these printers is very rough on the printheads.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I print an average of 5 discs per day with my HP C5280 bought last August.

hidalgo, I guess I'm what you call really late to the party. Just now seeing this. I have a C5280 printer that I just recently took out of the box. I am using it to put covers on dvd's that I've downloaded from cdcovercc.com. The problem is I see no way to manually stretch my covers to where they fit to the edge of the cd and I've had some come out with the white edge around the outer ring where the print just didn;t make it to the edge. Also the inner has been a little off at times. My old Epson 220 had software that allowed me to manually fit the cover within the diameter of the disc and there were never any misprints. Have you had a problem like this and how did you correct it? Thanks a lot for any info here.

It's freeware I use it on my HP D7560.
Not the fanciest but a lot better than the software that comes with the printer.
