I bought this from FRYs yesterday. Its a GQ DVD-R with a glossy white surface. At first I was really happy because it was a good deal, and I thought it was printable. But when I tried to print using my Epson Stylus Photo R220, the ink did not penetrate the coating. And it was just a mess priniting it

I just want to know is this really printable using Ink Jet? How can I print on it? Is there a way that I can print on it? Too bad because I really liked the glossy surface.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

    Welcome to the forum.

If it's not a printable surface, then unfortunately you're not going to be able to print on it.

Does it say the discs are printable on the packaging? Or, if the packaging says nothing, did Fry's advertise them as printable?

It does not say that it is printable, but it is covered by a white glossy paper. How can I print on this? It's so sad since I bought a lot of them

You cannot print on these unless they are "inkjet printable" discs. Sounds like you already proved they are not. Glossy inkjet discs are expensive, usually 2x the cost of regular inkjet printables. In any case, they are always labeled as "inkjet printable".
