SanDisk launches world's fastest microSDHC memory cards.

SanDisk's new microSD cards feature UHS-I capability and are capable of delivering up to 90MB/s write, allowing for much quicker transfer of bulky items to the card, such as several movies to watch on the move. The card also features up to 95MB/s read for much quicker transfer of photos and video clips off the card.

These prices are 400 - 500% what a 10x card is.. that's way too high given wehre the rest of the marketplace is.. expect it to drop to half that price as it's not realistic to pay that price. Also sdxc cards are comparably cheaper (albeit b/c they are the full sd size so production is easier)

I'm still waiting on SDXC cards to be the new standard... and the forthcoming micro version as well! These cards already have higher read/write cycles of 100+mb/sec!

I bought the Toshiba Thrive tablet because it has a full size SD slot. The Micro ones still have too much of a premium attached.

The cost is nearly a quarter of the things that can use it. Who would use these expensive things?

Owners of Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras without easy methods to connect to PC storage devices through USB and SATA.

I think the industry in general hasn't figured out how to produce cheap, fast, and reliable (all at once) flash cards and drives. Fast ones are always either not very reliable or too expensive or both.
