Question: Cheap, quality SSD available in US?

I'm going to be in the USA for some time next month, and while there I intend to get shop for some electronics and other bits and pieces.

I am thinking now might be the time to take the plunge into using a Solid State Disk instead of a hard drive for primarily the Operating System, virtual memory and commonly used programs. I was looking on newegg and it seems to be mixed bag unless you're willing to shell out $400-1000 which I am not.

Are there any good deals available in this area?

By "good deal" I mean fast(er than a normal hard drive), reliable, and not crazily expensive (no more than $300-$350 maximum, but preferably much less).

If so, could you guys point me to the best options?
