LightScribe launches Windows Software Development Kit

Lightscribe announced the release of publicy available Windows software development kit for its Direct Disc Labeling technology. The company promises that these downloads significantly simplify the creation of Lightscribe DVD/CD labeling applications. Windows' Software Development Kit (SDK) allows the user to integrate Lightscribe support into Windows-based software with a standardized Lightscribe application user interface.

With the launch of this new SDK Lightscribe tries to stay the company that offers simple, no-hassle products for businesses and consumers. If this is a succes depends on several things... What is changed by adding this kit? The new Windows SDK gives documented access to new Lightscribe software components that provide all the standard functionality that a labeling application needs to support Lightscribe printing.

Secondly the SDK makes the licensing process easier for software developers. 'The LightScribe Windows public software development kit allows any Windows
developer to enable LightScribe capability,' said Kent Henscheid, marketing manager for LightScribe.

The new Windows SDK seems to simplify application development by providing one consistent user-interface for the print operations to the end users, no matter what application is used. It integrates Lightscribe functionality into your Windows-based application... Will it make you happy? Maybe you can check it out, download it here, and tell us what you think!
