| Lone Time User - With todays current version and the past 3 including beta versions I am unable to burn Dual Layer Disks from Movie Only .ISO files I created with DVDfab. Namely Oceans 13 & Standing in the Shadows of Motown. The was also another tittle several weeks ago same thing. I do movie only in DL mode to .ISO files. Burn later. What is happening is most fail and those which burn successfully won't play on my Sony DVD player. Of the last 4 installs I have done clean installs twice including today's version. I have tried both my burners Plextor 760 & 716 as well as 2 different DL disks at different burn speeds. As well as the Movie only to DL.ISO to DL disk problem I have been unable to burn a back up copy of Standing in the Shadow of Motown - Clone, Full Disk or a custom copy. Any other suggestions. Thanks Glenn |

| Hi Glenn, what media have you tried?..I and others only recommend using Verbatim DVD+R DL..... Also backing up main movie only should give you a SL size, much better succes to burn to DVD-5 disc.... Are you using platinum or the free DVDFabHD Decrypter? I normally rip to HDD with Fab then use IMGBurn for my DL backups....

| If you are using Gold or Platinum, please post a burn log. I made a DL of Oceans 13 from Customize mode, burned with VSO, no problem (Verbatim MKM 003 DL at 6X).

| Additional Observation: Oceans 13 - Movie only - non compressed iso file aprox 5.5 g was used to burn Dual layer backup copy on Both Verbatin DL Inkjet printable media and BMI DL inkjet printable media with the Plextor 760 drive. I turned off pathfinder and tried it they both verified and play!!! Interesting!! Is this something I need to do with all my DL .iso's?? Following is what I have for logs others deleated in clean installs. Now what about doing a clone or full disk of Standing in the Shadows of Motown?? Log hopefull the right one: 11/18/2007 9:55:37 AM info ******************** Report session closed ********************* 11/18/2007 9:39:56 AM info Media removed. | It looks like the I: drive is not recognizing the blank media (2.4X as the only available speed is a symptom of this). It may need a firmware upgrade. I also notice that this same drive is in a slower transfer mode than the D: drive, which recognized the same media (8X,6X,4X available speeds) and seems to have burned it correctly. Try uninstalling the I: drive, then reboot and let windows reload the driver. Check to see if there is a firmware update for the I: drive (and as Tonee suggested, try some Verbatim blanks). Hope this helps; if not, click on the link in my sig for VSO support, they may be able to help.

| Firmware is up to date. any idea why the burn was successfully on both types of media with pathfinder turned off. Have been using both of the DL disk successfully in both burners previously. Thanks Glenn |
| I'm really not sure how PathPlayer would cause the problems that are in the burn logs. These lines: 11/18/2007 9:20:40 AM error Write error at 1792336 (16) - Code 05 21 02 [Illegal request, Invalid address for Write] 11/18/2007 9:20:40 AM warning Reporting invalid address for write during recovery - trying to continue 11/18/2007 9:20:40 AM warning at sector 1792320 (16) - recover sequence started 11/18/2007 9:20:40 AM warning Write error - Code 03 0C 00 [Write error] - Info 0 - CSI 0 are very similar to what has been reported with the D01 media in tha past. My DL was done with PathPlayer forced on. This is still a fairly new feature and I'm not sure how its operational logic would impact the creation of an ISO but not a VIDEO_TS folder.

| I've had more consistent good burns with verbatim media. Also, I've switched over to using Sony drives instead of Plextor. One is an 830 and the other a newer 840 models Both are IDE type interface. Plextor seems to have a generally bad reliability with DL media on the 716 models. I've done some testing on one with a SATA interface and the other an IDE. This probably doesn't help you a bit though, sorry.

| Since you are burning main movie only, try using a SL disc. I backed up Oceans 13 to a TY-R 8X without a problem. I use TY-R media most of the time with positive results. I just lately moved from TY-R 4X to the TY-R 8X because I order in bulk and had a supply of 4X discs. I am old, disabled, and like to keep it simple and cheap.
