Trouble burning Semi-Pro

I know for sure that the method I used and stated so works as I watched the org and back up at the same time just to compare. Ripit4me hasn't been updated for a long while so why take a chance and waste time when it might not come out complete , such as the screen going black for a minute then the movie continues until the finial credits are shown. Most of the other ways people were trying when the screen went black that was the end of it and they didn't get the last 10 minutes or so of the movie. Well enough said on this subject sorry if I ruffeled any feathers

Yep...the "Old" standby RipIt4Me worked this way. I'm sure DVDFab will be back up to par soon though. These guys are great.

I picked up this movie today Region 1 unrated and made 2 main movie backups. 1 using title 1 for the theater verison and 1 using title 16 for the unrated version. Both worked perfect using 5.0.2.8 with pathplayer disabled.

Are you sure that you got the last 10 minutes or so, as the movie starts again after the screen goes black, ie: where the man who won the $10,000 at the basketball game well towards the end he gets a package with some money in it, he is in a motorcycle shop when he receives the package, 5.0.2.8 copied fine for me up to the point where the screen went black then that was the end but it really wasn't

I updated and threw in Semi Pro. The correct movie size is being reported. I started a Main Movie burn and it burned successfully.

I was able to use the trial version on my laptop.
Now I log in only to find that there is a fix for the problem a half hour ago.

Latest DVDFab 5.0.3.0 can remove copy protection on Semi-Pro correctly, you don't need run 3rd program to remove the copy protection.

copied semi-pro using dvdfab plat 5.0.2.8 ne errors. I even got the part after the black screen. Now I going to try this new update and compare both back ups to se if they are any different. Must be a lot of bad presses around. oh yeah my copy is R1

You were correct, both copies were missing chapter 24.

: I downloaded new version and again made a main movie of both verisons. Worked great.

In order to backup this movie you must use 5.0.3.0. and it works great.

Incredible work, Fengtao! I wish EA/Dice would put in half the effort you do when it comes to fixing/upgrading their software. My few hour a day addiction to Battlefield 2142 could easily double, if their efforts to end the server/client crashes, disconnects, etc were in league with your dedication to perfect DVDFab.

Semi-Pro exhibits a form of copy protection I don't see often, (maybe 5 times in the past year), but it is particularly annoying.
It shuts down my XP Professional - SP3, repeatedly, when I try to rip it using DVD X Copy 3.2.1.0 or DVDFab Decrypter upto and including v.5.0.2.0

I read about the new 5.0.3.0 fix and I'll be sure to try it out but I do have a suggestion for those of you who remember how reliable W2k is.
As soon as I got tired of my Xpeepee crashing I hooked up my old W2k box and flipped in the Semi-Pro DVD, opened RipIt4Me 1.7.10, and voila, a complete copy of the main movie, (didn't bother trying for a full DVD - don't want the junk). Oh, and I got the stuff in Chapter 25 as well, so whatever it is that is causing all the havoc for Xpeepee users it doesn't affect the W2k OS at all - something I find to often be more and more true these days. (DRM anyone?

)

I can see why M$ doesn't want W2k around anymore, it actually WORKS!

FYI: For those of you who have given up on DVD X Copy 3.2.1.0, I want to report it is still my fastest and most reliable ripper. I use it for 98% of everything I rip. I probably used DVDFab Decrypter maybe 20 times since the beginning of the year and RipIt4Me maybe 3 times when all else failed- everything else gets the DVDXCopy treatment right out of the gate and I only go elsewhere if it fails, which is seldom to hardly ever.
(Current titles in my library = 1,244 DVDs as of 6/14/08)

If you don't have a copy, you can find me through Yahoo email - substitute underscores for the dots in my username. I have a complete DVD ripping package which has NEVER failed to get the job done yet & which I update with the latest DVDFab Decryper version as they come out.

Wasn't trying to jump the stump here Jimbo, but users of FAB & XPeepee should be aware there is a variant protection around that is foiling DVDFab Decrypter.
As of v.5.0.3.0 it's still beating DVDFab, but not R4M & FixVTS, and it doesn't affect W2k - which ties it pretty strongly to the DRM protections implimented in Xpeepee and up. (IE 7/WMP 11)
