Question: Reading Problem With Street Kings

I bought a copy of street kings[because I like the actors that are in it.]
Anyway I tried to back it up but had trouble with dvdfab 5.0.8.5.
reading problem. Anyone else?.

No problems at all...
Platinum 5.0.8.5, R1, WS, Customize, title 1 only (1:48:40), English AC-3/5.1, English subtitles.
Like a hot knife through soft butter...

I meant to add that I had PathPlayer always enabled on my rip (my default setting), but it analyzed ok with PP disabled as well.

No problem using 5.0.8.8beta full disc dvd9 R1. EDIT: Pathplayer always enabled

There is no special protection on Street Kings R1. Any ripping software should be able to do this one. I tried 4 different programs with no problems.

I had the same problem. I bought this at Wal-Mart with the intent to back it up and the process said it completed successfully. However, the movie just hangs in the DVD player on "loading". I put in the original disk and it played fine.

Unfortunately, we've been seeing more bad presses recently...
I'd exchange it.

I just tried the backup disk I created last night in my daughters DVD player and in the DVD player in the bedroom and they both will not recognize the backup copy. On the other hand both will play the original DVD.

I backed up Street Kings just fine. Customize setting, plays fine on both of my DVD players. Using version 5.0.8.8.

I just tried watching street kings and dvd player not play, I used the VSO burn engine. I reburned using nero and played it in dvd player with no problems.

Actually had no issues with this one with several programs.

Should be an easy rip for just about anything.

The Only Problem I Had Was That The Disc Was Noisy As All Hell! It Woke The Cat Up! Bad Pressing. I'm Gonna Return It
For New One.

I see that you burned at 8x.

Try burning at 4x instead.

I had a similar problem where I burned at my DVD+RWs rated speed of 4x and my standalone DVD player had difficulty reading it. I then redid it at half that speed and my player read it fine.

Sorry to be so long getting back to you...
Nothing jumps out at me in your burn log, except maybe your selected burn speed, but I have a few ideas.
Have you made any changes recently?...media, burn speed, etc., etc.?
Will the bkup play in your burner?
One possibility is that perhaps your discs aren't finalizing correctly.
Please try to force closing (finalizing) the discs.

Pop the bkup in your burner...

DVDFab Finalize a disc
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right click on the Fab Icon >
Left click Properties >
Left click Find Target >
Left click PcSetup.exe >
Left click on the + in front of Patin-Couffin driver >
Now left click once to select your burner >
Right click on the selected burner >
Navigate to the bottom of the dropdown to Finalize the media

You're using good quality media and it looks like your have the Write Type setting in Fab set to SAO (DAO in your log).

What speed did you select in Fab?...is it "Recommended"?
Don't use this setting...it stinks.
Also, I believe the max write speed for your burner is 8X and for your media as well.
Recommend you cut this in half and select 4X...do not choose recommended.

Is this a dell laptop?...I believe this is a Benq (?now LiteOn) burner, but with really crappy firmware support.

Please check this thorugh dell with your service tag or other ID before attempting to flash.

If none of this works or maybe you want to try anyway...
Recommend that you try Img for burning.
It's an outstanding burn engine, free, great support from LUK! and can be integrated with Fab so it's a smooth, easy process.

When using Img, be certain to make the following changes...and thanks to troy512 for this...

tools > settings > build > don't prompt image details

Thanks for all help. It must be something with the Dell Laptop burner (like maineman suggested). I bought a DVD burner for my desktop and it worked fine using the same software, media and settings. Last night was the first time I had a chance to test so sorry it took so long to reply.
