| hi, i have downloaded 'DVD Region+CSS Free' several times already. but each time i double click to run and install it. it says the following: access violation at address 004097c2. write at address 00401000. i thought it might be the program so have tried downloading from different sources. but they all end up with the same message. can anybody help me? any suggestions would be so appreciated. thanks. |

 The problem you state above is a windows registry error. Have you already loaded and run this program before? If not I would search on Google and download the following program Reg Cleaner. Run it through and remove all DVD Region+CSS software. Reload the downloaded program without antivirus software running etc. Hope this helps. Barry.

| Hi kinkycupid, I second Barry's welcome, Hopefully, Barry is sleeping as I post, that is, if he's a "normal" englishman. Oh wait a second, guess that's an oxymoron...  ...sorry Barry, couldn't resist...  I think he was referring to the actual installation of the program when he spoke of disabling. Personally, I wouldn't be on the internet these without protection, especially when downloading...Fengtao's sites are safe, but... First, uninstall DVD Region+CSS Free Next, I'd recommend that you run regseeker. It's a little gem of a utility...safe, effective and pretty darn safe as registry cleaners go. I've recommended it many times and never heard a complaint. Some sites will try to scam you for a fee. Here's a reliable site from snapfiles: Regseeker. Read it over prior to running. When you run it, you'll notice a box in the left lower corner "Backup before deletion". It's checked by default...do Not uncheck. (I've never had to use it, but no sense in tempting fate...  ). Wait for it to complete its scan (if you've never cleaned your registry before, you're gonna have lots), click "select all", right click in the main window, hold your breath and click "delete selected items"...The first time, this moment is similar to completing a new custom built computer and hitting the power button... ).Now download fab again. Let us know... Hope this helps.

| hi, sorry about the late reply. i've been so busy, i haven't able to test the advice given until yesterday. it seems to work like a charm. However wen i tested another disc, there seemed to be a few problems. i am not sure if it would still belong in this thread....but here goes.. windows media player seems to recongnise the disc sometimes, whilst sometimes it would pop up a dialog box about changing the regional settings inorder to watch the disc. but even when it would read the disc, nothing played from the dvd except the early credits, then nothing, no images. On the otherhand, on other players such as nero showtime and divx, it said the regional settings were wrong and prompted me to change it, not playing the dvd at all. is there something i have done wrong? ps. i have not had a chance to test the disc on powerdvd yet, as i can't locate the disc to install it. |

| Hi kinkycupid, DVD Region+CSS Free is out of date and may not work on some DVDs. Fengtao has promised an update, but Fab 3 seems to have taken more time than he had planned. There are other options that will help you get through the wait. You may need to decrypt to a HD folder then delete the movie when you have watched it. Fengtao offers 2 free programs that may help. DVDFab Decrypter and Free DVD the later I have not used. Hope you find one that will work. Mack
