With this film I had playtback issues with the real DVD. Title 58 (Feature Film) causes player to freeze for a few minutes then it skips forward and plays. Rewinding back causes the previously skipped material to play. There is either a new protection on this title or mastering errors.

My real DVD just played back find, but unable to do a back up that plays with the same DVD player. Will try to burn from hard drive in a few days if I don't see anything new on the forums about this issue.

You are not using DL-R are you DREAMLINER? I have found them to be pretty much useless for video. If you are using +R be sure to check the box to booktype it to DVD-ROM for your best bet for compatibility on stand alone players.

I am using DL+R same as I have always used, but I do not recal this booktype it to DVD-ROM issue. Is this the normal default of the DVDFab program or is it something I need to change if so where?

Will look into me DVDFab settings at this time.

O.K. I found it and Booktype is set to DVD-ROM by defualt, so nothing there.

Thanks for the tip, but it appears that is not the problem.

I am using the 5.2.0.0 beta and you can find it at the top of the dvdfab forum section. This fixes the problem you are having

Thanks GJ!

Will give that one a whirl.

It's strange becuase I did do some good backups with 5.1.2.2 and if you read this it says otherwise?

"DVDFab 5.1.2.2 (November 30, 2008)
New version of DVDFab added support for a new copy protection as found on "The Dark Knight" (US), and fixes the problem that burned DVD cannot be played. To learn more about the features and fixes, please visit Release history."

Yes I noticed that after I posted and I thought the beta fixed that problem but it fixed a different problem that was introduced in the release

I am also haveing problems with the new beta version. Sometimes an un-install and a clean new install will help. It worked for Narnia Prince Caspian but still fails with Wanted & Step Brothers. Disks all play ok inspite of proccess Fail. Glenn

Well I have done all 3 of those movies with the latest dvdfab beta and no problems with them. I received no errors no messages other than what it should be saying.

Try burning with ImgBurn and see what happens.

Yes ImgBurn or Nero as some people are having problems with the VSO burn engine

Read my thread aboutFAB 5.2.0.0 Fails in Verify mode. I finaly gave up. Burn to .iso was successfull and then burn from .iso to disk. there is a tiny glich that is not affecting everyones system. It will work it self out with new beta versions that will hopefully show up soon. Glenn

Using what burning engine? Fab uses VSO and that is a known problem for some with that engine. That's why we reccomend ImgBurn or Nero as the burning engine.
