I am having troubles ripping the main movie of "Shoot 'Em Up" (R2). No matter whether I rip the main movie or do a conversion to Generic (or any other format) the main title will start at chapter 2. I tried to enable or disable path player but it doesn't make any difference.

DVDFab reports the correct amount of chapters and lenght of the movie, but the ripped copy starts at the chapter 2.

If I rip the whole DVD and play it, it will work fine, but if I rip only the main movie and play it it will miss the first chapter (the DVD player will show 16 capters instead of 17).

I checked the rest of the DVD and none of the other titles/chapters on the DVD contains the 1st chapter.

Does anybody have a clue how to work it around or is a bug in DVDFab?

Thanks

The R1 disc did not do this. Does the first chapter show in the Preview window? Try Customize mode and select remove menus.

No, also in the preview window it starts playing at what it corresponds to chapter 2 (but the caption says: title 1 - chapter 1). Playing the full ripped DVD with a DVD player I can see that chapter are off by one in DVDFAB.

Tried Customize and remove menus but got the same result (starts at chapter 2) also if I brun it to a DVD a play on real DVD player.

Thanks

Could be a protection problem. ?? Turn on PathPlayer, let it analyze the disc, then click on the Send IFO Files button on the Info screen. Maybe Fengtao can give you a fix.

I have sent the IFO. Hope Fengtao can figure it out. However, the DVD is already ripped to the hard disk and it plays fine. The problem is if I load again thye HD copy and try to select only the main movie or to convert to generic.

By the way, if I play directly VTS_01_1 it plays fine and contains the first chapter, but if I play the VTS_01_1 that results after having extracted th main movie it is missing the first chapter.

So it seems that DVDFAB has problems reading the structure of the movie that has been saved to the HD.

OK, I have worked around this problme by doing the following:

1. Ripped the whole DVD with DVDFAB
2. Isolated the main movie using DVDShrink
3. Opened the main movie with DVDFab and converted to Generic

Or some reason DVDShrink could work-around the starnge chapter problem but DVDFab couldn't.

Thanks anyway.
