I think this was sort of mentioned before but I've seen another product that has the option to make the DVD jump directly to menu on load (basically skipping over the previews). It was kind of nice not have to mess with the previews (although I know you can just do main movie only)

This may have been requested already, and/or a good reason of why not to. Regarding the "Pop Up" box that request a 2nd disk when using the Split Disk menu. Is there a way to have the "Pop Up" automatically go away after the blank disc is recognized in the selected DVD Burner and for burning to disc to automatically start? Also when in Split disc mode.....is it possible to select a different burner to burn the 2nd disk on? Thanks for any response.

Hi I emailed suggesting DVDFab crashed when I tried to read home made DVD's and when I tried to copy from a folder. Less than a week later both issues have been sorted in the new Beta version. Coincidance or superb support ?. Anyway I will be buying as soon as pay day comes around. Just bought iPod so skint. Keep up the good work.

There are a few things that are preventing me from really getting on the bandwagon of DVD Fab Platinum. Here they are. #1 The innability to encode more than one episode at a time to a mobile format. This really makes it a pain when working with TV DVDs. I want to be able to select the episodes and have DVD Fab encode them to that number of XVID or MP4 files without having to go through time after time. #2 Support for 640x480 Ipod H.264 files. IPODs now support them and I need a program that does as well. #3 When I encode a XVID file with the original AC3 it does not have audio. The AC3 light shows up on my receiver, but no audio comes out. Audio does not work on on the PC or my home receiver. Really a great program, but these few things make it better for me to use other programs instead. Thanks for the work, John

In DVD Fab Platinum, in iPod convertion, why the resolution need to be choose in a list? Why not put a custom resolution? Other great feature would be if dvd fab include a option to convert all dvd titles selected in the first screen. Usually I convert TV Series with 4 episodes each and I need to start the convertion again for each episode.

Now that the current version is working perfect, what new features are being added to the next one? I would like to be able to adjust the compression of individual titlesets (delegating the least compression to the main movie). I prefer to keep the extras that pertain to the movie and eliminate the previews. Sometimes this can result in the movie being compressed too much. It would be great to then be able to then be able to adjust the compression of the remaining titlesets so that the movie has the least compression. I have posted previously and know that it is under consideration.

Please, whatever you do, do NOT auto eject a disc player. Many players are inside cabinets with closed doors. If the player ejects with the door closed, the player will likely be damaged. For that matter, the same applies to burners in computers. I've seen PC's with doors that cover up the drive bays, and there are no electronics to inform the drive when the door is closed. They too can be damaged by auto-opening. I have no objections to having an option to auto eject a burner (with the default set to no-ejection), but unless there is a menu option on the disc itself for this action, please don't do it during playback.

Is there an easy way to use DVD fab to output a MPG file that will work with TIVO desktop server to transfer the video file to a TIVO to then play the file? TIVO just started supporting transferring mpg files at the right parameters that can be transferred to and played on a TIVO from a PC. My camcorder used DVD-R's and I would like the rip the DVD to my hard drive as a MPG file that will work with the TIVO transfer play scenario. I see the ipod, psp and generic support in the new DVD FAB... Any way to get it to correctly build a mpg file that can be transferred to and played on a TIVO? Does that make sense? this would be really cool to add to DVD fab or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

I would like an option to rip the files in seperatly. Like in Dvd Decrypter. Sometimes a certain chunk of dvd-video file would have trouble ripping in. In DVD Decrypter you could choose to skip over that part. Then try to clean the disc or rip in from another source to get that one last file. That way if the problem was at the end of a disc, you wouldnt have to scan the whole thing in again.

How to prepare MPEG-2 video files for transfer to a TiVo DVR using tivo desktop 2.2 or later: Use a standard personal editing tool such as Sonic MyDVD, Adobe Premiere, or Nero to prepare a final cut of your video Use the export/save as feature and choose MPEG-2 format. This is the standard format used by DVD players Find the MPEG-2 encoding options and set them to the following parameters to ensure proper transfer and playback on TiVo DVRs: Resolution 720 x 480, 704 x 480 (D1), 544 x 480 (3/4 D1), 480 x 480 (2/3 D1), and 352 x 480 (1/2 D1). The higher the resolution, the better the video quality and the larger the resulting file, which means longer transfer time and more disk usage on your PC and DVR. Bit Rate 1 – 8 Mbps. The higher the bit rate, the better the video quality and the larger the resulting file. 4 Mbps is recommended for high-quality video. Frame Rate 29.97 (standard NTSC). Do not try any different frame rates. Aspect Ratio 4:3 (recommended) or 16:9 Audio MPEG-1 Layer 2 for TiVo DVRs without DVD; AC/3 (Dolby) for TiVo DVRs with DVD. |

Ok; going back to the forced subs thing, when making a movie only copy. I have only tested one dvd using this theory, see my 'da vinci code' post, but by removing the UOP'S in the ifo/vob on a dvd with forced subs, removes the code that makes these subs appear automatically when needed in the copy. I think if dvdfab could detect a forced sub stream and automatically turn off the 'remove UOP'S' in the common settings, and automatically copy that sub stream, the final copy should then show the forced subs as the original. This would be a good new feature for dvdfab, and would be the only software capable, i think, of making a movie only copy of a film with forced subs, without messing up the forced usb stream. Thoughts welcome. -+SmartiEz+-

I think streaming video from tv-tuner or 1394-&-audio direct to DVD would be awesome. Or is that a whole other program in itself? Or maybe Media Portal does that, I dunno.. Thanks for a great product! Ed Last edited by eddieboy; 21-12-2006 at 06:37. Reason: I'm an idiot...

I think that once you have a good working program you should just leave it alone because when you start trying to make all these changes to please everyone some other part of the program starts having trouble and then you have to do all the beta's just to straighten out the problem you created trying to do all the changes to please a few people, Just my thought on the subject. Hope nobody takes an offence to this but it just seems like there are to many changes going on. Have a nice day and many happy holidays coming up.
