error 116 and error 400
I have a problem, not sure this is the right place to post it, but can anyone help me please. Sometimes I get a task 1 failed error 400 and sometimes I get a task 2 failed error 116. Either way I can't burn anything. I have used this program on other computers and am very familiar with it so I don't understand why I can't get it to work on my computer now.

Re: error 116 and error 400
Hi crazgrl6680 and welcome to cdfreaks.
Glad to hear that you're familiar with Fab and sorry if this seems really obvious.
400 is a general transcoding error...really non-specific, but it is a read error, whereas 116 is a write error.
I'm guessing your optical drive(s) behave normally outside Fab?
Has Fab ever worked on this pc? or is it new to this particular pc?
If you could post the detail error and the respective logs, ie., burn log, event log, it would help a great deal.
400 could be something as simple as a scatched/dirty disc.
116 could be driver or hardware issues, but again tough to guess at this point.
Ultimately, you may need to uninstall and reinstall your optical drives in device mananger and or completely uninstall/reinstall fab, but right now this is premature without knowing specifics.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
