Error 116

I recently purchased dvdfab platinum. The first few weeks the program worked great! However, the last several times I've tried to burn using the full disc feature I get the error 116 failure to burn dvd message. I have updated to the 3.0.7.5 Beta and still no change. I can burn using the main movie feature, but not full disc, which I need to burn the cartoon discs for my kids to use. I use DVD+R DL discs by memorex, which is all I have ever used, and I use DVD-R TDK, Memorex, Sony, as well as the DVD+R DL to burn in main movie mode, so I don't think it's the brand of disc I'm using. Please help me!!!! I am desperate!!!!! Here's the error log below.

This is not a reliable media. For DLs the most reliable is Verbatim.

Thanks for the post. But I have used the memorex DL to burn main movie and it accepts the dvd and burns with no problem. Is it just not going to accept the memorex DL for full disc? Confused

I agree that you should probably try some different media. Also, make sure that you have "Remove Layer Break" checked in Common Settings. The log indicates the failure happened before the layer break but still out on the edge of the disc, which is where poor media often fails. VSO software has a submission utility (vsorep.exe, download and run) on their website that will collect all log and configuration information automatically for submission to their customer service, which generally replies within 24 hours.

Thank you. I appreciate your help. I'll try new media and download the vso inspector. Do you know of any other dvd burner software that is good? I really like dvdfab platinum, but several people have told they use more than one for backups.

I still use the original DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink once in a great while, but I have found that DVDFab Platinum is capable of doing almost everything I need, and the VSO burning engine has been stable for me also. I have Nero on my machine also, and use it sometimes for odd jobs and with DVD Shrink.

They have people who allow this information to them automatically. I was enabled in Fab until so many did not want to send it to them.

Why we don't find Verbatim on the Media manufacturers' list?

They are listed by media manufacture, not Brand name. Most Verbatims are made Mitsubishi. MCC is better known as VERBATIM and Mitsubishi brand name.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. I have been using this program exclusively and with Verbatim media exclusively, both in Win XP and now for the last few weeks in Vista, with no issues. Now I get error 116 and a "failure to burn" error on every disc. It has totally quit working all of a sudden. Oddly, I burned one disc (the incredibles) with the latest version, and then both Little Miss Sunshine and "Unknown" will not work. Same error on both.
