DVDfab Subtitles

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm not going to go through 200+ pages of threads >_< I flicked through the first 5 and did a search but i did not really find anything about what i need.

Basically, If i rip a video with the external sub file, sure, it works, but i have two files that have to be in the same folder as the video otherwise it wont work.

If i click direct render to video, it is out of sync. I have tried AVI recomp but it does not seem to help me.

Is there a way to have the subtitles included in the video while being in sync? Or is there another program that can add the sub file to the video itself?

Any help would be great!

Re: DVDfab Subtitles

I have put subs in many movies using the Direct Render option in DVD to Mobile and I can't remember a single one where the timing was changed. Some of those that use fade-in subs (e.g. SW-Phantom Menace) do not render well. Does this happen on more than one movie?

Re: DVDfab Subtitles

Well im trying to rip my Tenjho Tenge DVD's. It is happening with all of them, No matter if i seperate them into the right chapters for each episode, Or if i just rip the whole DVD. Each time the subtitles are out.

Unless i use the external sub file, in which case they work perfectly?

Re: DVDfab Subtitles

The only discs I render them on are the ones that use them for translated dialogue, and I haven't done one with any of the recent versions of DVDFab. I did have one disc where the subs all just ran together, one right after another, so quickly that the subs had all been shown before the movie was half over. Is that the kind of thing you are seeing?

//EDIT// Tell me what profile you are using and I'll try one of mine and see what it does. Also give me the screen size and video bitrate you're using.

Re: DVDfab Subtitles

Its the opposite for me actually.

The first two thirds of the first episode on the disc have no subtitles, and then it kicks in, So its very much behind where the subs should be.

In the preview tho its all fine! I click the English subs (it has English and Chinese) i preview it, its fine, I then go to the next page, click render on video and once its ripped that's when it becomes a problem

Re: DVDfab Subtitles

No need to bump, I was refreshing every few minutes. Looks fine as far as settings go. I don't have the same discs, but I'll try one of mine with those settings and see what happens. Are these Region 1 discs?

Re: DVDfab Subtitles

Australia is PAL, the discs are NTSC if they are made for sale in Japan. The subtitles appeared perfectly on the R1 disc that I tried. Not sure what sort of problem you are seeing there, but it will be difficult for anyone to duplicate or test without those same discs.
