Version 5.0.7.6 has made a change to the MKV processing of H264. Here is the output from MediaInfo:

Quote:
Video
Format : MPEG-4 Visual
Format profile : Simple@L1
However, there are the following problems:

  • Stream still cannot be recognized by mkv2vob or tsMuxer_GUI so I am unable to try it on the PS3.
  • The file size of my test chapter has dropped from ~250MB to less than 100MB.
  • The following part of the profile is being ignored which is probably why the file is so small:

Quote:
<vcodec name="h264">
<!-- profile( baseline=0, main=1, high=2) -->
<generic profile="1" level="41" />
</vcodec>
AVI creation with H264 works fine on the same content. The profile used can be found here:

Truly amazing work, Fengtao and Ting!

Many thank to you and the others in your team, for keeping DVDFab on top of things in this way. Really do appreciate that a great deal.

My daughters also send their regards and thanks.

See you later then, and thanks again. Jim

Really like that new bit " detecting writable media " which appears just after the copying process, and then goes on to burn a copy once the disc has been detected.

Great work!

Agreed, that's one of my favorite new additions.

I had purchased DVDfab platinum on 04232008 ver. 4 and on the website said if I purchased before 05082008 I would receive free updates for life.
I can not get a response to any update information. I received a key file for version 4 through email, but no version 5. How many people have had this problem and have I wasted money. Below is email information. Is avangate or DVDfab at fault?

Your payment for your online order placed on http://www.dvdfab.net on

Well all the updates are to fix problems that arise so it's best to always do the updates, and yes it could solve your problems but also we would need to know what errors you are getting so the gang could help you

Methinks the only one at fault here is you. When you open Version 5 you should get a notation that your 30 trial has expired, but gives directions on how to get the new key if this is in error. If you follow those directions, providing the exact same e-mail address you used when you bought the program, and you don't have your spam filter set to weed out the response, you'll get the new key as an attachment in an e-mail response PDQ.

This is the same procedure outlined many times before in different threads here by others. There is, I believe, one specific thread on getting the new key when changing from Version 4 to Version 5. It's worked for me and others here that followed these simple instructions. In fact the only possible reason I can envision for it not working is not following these simple instructions.

Please perform this simple procedure and methinks you'll be all set. I think you'll also find a wealth of information in this forum that will help you solve just about any problem with this excellent software you might encounter, but you do have to look for it.

Might I also respectfully request you don't post any more "mad as hell" notes trying to play the blame game? I think you'll find it doesn't go over too well here with those who've been around a while.
