Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the effort you guys put in.

Can you explain now what to choose as these codecs confuse the hell out of me.

The last version of DVDfab I could only do one pass as two pass sometimes took 6 hours.

This program has been the best for me as it was simple to use before the intro of the codecs.

Just for your info I convert dvd to avi.

Can two pass be safely used and at what benefit?

Can we now see subtitles in the viewing area?

Cheers

After upgrading from 5.0.3.0 directly to 5.0.5.0 (I missed 5.0.40) I am getting finalization errors:

"warning WRITE SUCCESS: Disc written, additionnal finalization may be required"

The DVD-R disks appear to be successfully written despite the error. There has been no change in media or hardware between versions. In both cases I used packet writing.

I never saw this error before upgrading. Should I switch to SAO or revert back to 5.0.3.0?

Many thanks for a fine program.

Very nice. Thanks

But, I just want say that there is problem with the preview in the left corner.

When I clic on it to hide, there is a refresh problem, I thought it would be fixed on version 5050 but it not.

And I would say another thing, It would be great if we could cut a movie where we want like dvdshrink, we can only cut a movie at the end of a chapter.

Thank you again Fengtao

Thank you!! I love this program and I love it even more now that you've included audio and full preview screen options!

AND I was having trouble (DVDFab just kept looping on the scanning/reading)with a backup of an older movie (with all kinds of special play options) and this version took care of the problem! *poof* problem gone!
You guys are the best! Thanks for all your hard work, I certainly appreciate it!

Try to find some media Made in Japan, look on the side of the spindle, it will say " Fabrique au Japan" near the UPC label.

Thanks for this masterpiece of software,
Only problem I have in the moment is, that the preview did not gives fullscreen and no audio with internal codecs. The Nero filters are working perfectly.

It might be you're trying to activate Fab 5 with your Fab 4 key.
Please click on this link and follow the instructions to retrieve the appropriate key:

http://www.dvdfab.com/retrieveregkey.htm
If you are a registered user you should get the new key sent in seconds to your original purchase from email address.
If you do not see it in 10 to 20 minutes look in your spam folder.
Also, you do not need to uninstall your old version though it might be good to after you find the new one is working well.

Be certain you choose DVDFab 5.x in the dropdown.

I just copied my first DL DVD using this latest version and although I had the write speed set to 2.0 it indicated it was burning at over 6x? The burned DVD plays fine in all units but I was just wondering if this was a problem - the burn seemed real fast compared to previous versions of DVD FAB which did indicate they were burning at 2.0 to 2.5x.

Thanks!

This(2-2.4X) is not an available write speed with some drives and media. Don't know why it chose 6X though.

That's the same error I got twice. Error code 115 is a VSO burning error:

115 HWS_FINALIZATIONFAILED // Finalization process has failed

I don't know if switching to SAO instead of packet will fix it, but packet writing worked fine in 5.0.3.0. Unless I hear otherwise, I think I will revert to the earlier version without this problem.

I thought maybe my original media was bad, but these reports indicate that the problem may be more widespread.
