I'm using DVDFab Platinum 3.0.9.8 and noticed with the generic mobile option that processing a single title from a TV series disc takes longer than when I copy the entire disc from DVD9 to DVD5. I'm accepting the default size and am using 998 for the video bit rate and MP3 audio at 192 bit rate. It takes 45 minutes per pass (90 minutes for high quality). I'm using a 2Ghz Pentium with 1GB of RAM and the hard drive is not fragmented. Why is this processing taking so long? Also, is there a video size that could be output to represent the DVD actual format such as 720 by 480 pixels, since I think this could reduce the processing time and thus not require the second high quality processing pass. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi roadwarrior. What is the running time (when played as a DVD) of the episode/segment you are converting?

It all depends to the format of the TV video file, some times has to be re-encoded and this process takes time more than usual time.

The running time of the particular episode is around 44 minutes and that's what the single pass is taking. The target format is Xvid .avi. And the DVD format is from a .vob file.

This is a little long but not out of line with what I have experienced. I have not done any conversions with 3.0.9.8. What is the processing rate in fps(reported in the same area as the read rate when doing a DVD to DVD)?
