DVDFab Platinum 3 Beta

Yes, I have a case with 10 drives, it will recognize all except the Plextor 760A which happens to be Master on the primary ide channel. All my BenQs are recognized even my LG 4166. But the weird part is that the other Platnium Beta recognizes the Plextor perfectly. When I chose to select the Video TS folder it just shuts the program down with the errors I posted.

The Crash report is empty. Are you talking about the crash report .dll module? The text report is empty.

Last night I took the time to run a couple of quick copies to see how well it works. First impresions are good. With all new beta programs there are a few glitches. Have been using DVD fab for several years know, seldom with any problems.
I would like to see a feature added that would show a running total of the project size reflecting the differant items that have been added and ommitted. I use the size of the DVD including the parts I want to dicide if I will spit it into 2 disks. I guess looking at the % of compression is some what the same.
So here is the glitch I came accross:
I also updated my old DVDFab to 29.85 and had the same problem:
Besides from making a back-up copy I use DVD Shrink to create a .iso that I use as a back up on a Hard drive. THe computer I use has 4 HDrives with lots of space and 1g of Ram. DVD Shrinks crashed 8 of 9 trys using files created by Beta 3 version a Error: Out of Memory, Not enough storage is available to procced. This morning I used Nero to create a .iso from these same files with no problems. Further testing to isolate the problem will take time. Uninstal DVDFab and run a test with the current production software with has worked flawlessly till I installed the Beta version. Reinstall DVD shrink which has worked till now. Any thoughts as to why there is all the sudden a conflict now?

The more I look at your new software the more I like it.
But: I might have missed something but I used your old software to split the Main Movie only. It appears the new software slits the Compleate disk.
Looks like I would have to procces the Main movie non compressed to a file and then open the non compressed Movie only file on the Hard drive with the slit disk mode to do a split disk copy of the movie only allowing me the Movie only plus Audio tracks and subtitiles I select. This this something you might be addressing or will I need to keep a copy of the old software to do this one step process.

Another problem I seem to have is, if you remove a movie from your souce and put another in DVDFAB seems to be scanning the new disc but still thinks it is the previous movie. (the scanning window still shows the drive letter and the disc volume naem from the previous movie)

Somehow I think Feng Tao knows of this problem, I think the program has a problem with computers with more than 4 DVD drives, but I could be wrong because the Fab Platinum beta3- 2.9.8.5 has no problems with all of my drives.

Fengtao, I would like to thank you for making it easy to back up serial dvds. I had just emailed you about it and two days later the new version came out. That's service! I do have a couple of small problems. I don't see the percentage of compression mentioned above and as you can see the "task time left" information is truncated. I use 800X600 resolution, but even when I changed it to 1024x768 the image stayed the same. Anyone have an idea?

Before you click on start, there should be a small box about where "Copying VTS_01" is in the above screen shot. There you chose disc type DVD 5 or DVD 9 and compression is displayed beside the box according to Disc size chosen.

Make sure you click off make another copy and finish before changing DVD.

I will double check that later. It is a strange problem as it always sees my 2 internal ide drives but the 2 usb drives don't always appear on the drive list (although windows does see them), and sometimes 1 of the usb's will show but not the 2nd

I am not the only one with drives not showing so hopefully Fengtao will be able to look into it.

At one time Fab was not compatible with USB burner at one time and not sure that was fixed. I would PM fengtao or email him the problem. His email is fengtao@dvdidle.com.

I have an LG 2166 USB burner that works fine with DVD Fab products.

My USB drives worked fine with previous Platinum releases, Just seem to be the beta that has trouble with them.

All my drives works fine with the previous DVD Fab products, its just this new beta that I am having a problem with. I am really looking forward to the next release to see if it will recognize my Plextor. I think this product could be the cream of the crop when finished.

Bravo and kudos to Fentago! I purchased DVDFab Platinum in Oct. 05 and have been fairly happy with it. The one drawback for me was copying to dual layer discs. I finally ended up ripping to my hard drive with DVDFab and burning with Nero Recode; successful, but a nuisance. Now there’s DVDFab Platinum 3. I downloaded the beta a couple of days ago and have copied a few sl discs and a few dl. Wow—no lb problems, nothing. The interface is great, informational and easy to use. Haven’t tried anything else aside from DVD to DVD as I don’t really need the other funcitons. But wow!!! Fentago has hit the nail on the head. Thanks.

Well, that seems to be part of the problem. I'm not seeing the compression line, like I don't see all of the "time left" and I only see the upper outline of the "disk type" box.

it would be great to get the funktion of make a choice to have a subpicture and audio by default(like in DVD Shrink). It's great to have this with Main movie. Maby you can make a checkbox called "default" or something. My kids love to put in a dvd and automaticly have a subpicture in our language.

Another thing I noticed is that if you mark or unmark for ex. a title, audio, subpicture the quality does Not change ???

I have splitted a dvd9 in 2 dvd5... when i select a chapter of 2nd dvd there is not image on screen and don't open the player... would be beautiful if possible... a text with "insert 2nd dvd"... thanks

Just a quick note. I treid to backup Batman Begins using three. It just kept reading and reading the disc and nothing more?

Is it reading or analyzing? I had a problem with 3 hanging in analyzing the disc in 1st beta.

First go back about 2 days and read my post @alan.

I had same problem and it was hanging up. I uninstalled the drives under device manager and let Windows reinstall the drives. Mine was recognizing the the drive letter but not the name of the drive. I also cleaned the registry. I also learned to have both drives loaded before opening Fab. Also make sure you have updated to beta 2. When you finish a copy, click OK and finish so Fab goes through the cycle. It also takes a few seconds when you change discs to allow the drive to refresh.
