2) If you are registered user, get new key of DVDFab 3 at www.dvdfab.com/retrieveregkey.htm

3) Use the new key to activate DVDFab 3 into registered version

Don't know if I should still post to this beta thread since the release version is out, but here it is.

All seems to be working fine with the exception of the Main Movie Mode. When using Main Movie, Platinum copies the appropriate files to the temp directory, but bombs at the point when it should begin writing to the new disk (no error code, msg other than the '...Send to Microsoft...'). Using Win XP Pro, clean system, LITE-ON_COMBO_LTC-48161H and LITE-ON DVDRW_SOHW-1693S. Long experience with Platinum 2.x, not probs.

Any suggestions?

Another question for the group....

Using Verbatim DVD-R and DVD+R DL blanks. Under config I can opt to set the Booktype to DVD-R. If I do this for the DVD+R DL disks, do I need to turn this off when recording to the DVD-R disks? I assume I do. Or does Platinum v3 scope out the booktype of the disk and turn it off automatically when advisable?

1) Exit problem will be fixed in next release.

2) you need turn booktype off when writing to DVD-R, since it's only for DVD+R/RW.

For smart detection of media type and turn on/off booktype settings automatically, I will forward it to VSO.

I've read many posts here about not setting booktype for -R's. I've always set mine to DVD-ROM for all of my blank DVD media and I've never had a single issue with them not reading or playing or burning.

I have downloaded my registration key and pasted into the program. It will not recognise my key and keeps asking me to register. It still stays on trial. I have before installing this software done a complete fresh re install of my op system. Therefore there is no other loaded programs on this cpu. Please help.

I have no idea if this will help, but I seem to recall that the c&p didn't work initially, so I went back and simply double-clicked on the email attachment and then opened the program, worked like a charm.

Hello all, I downloaded latest DVDFab and it looks like exactly what I need. But... When I try to do something with DVD movie, no matter is it DVD5 or DVD9, CSS or unprotected, I get the message "Failed to get DVD information".
The system is W2K SP4 with bunch of fixes, and Pioneer DVR110D v1.39. DVDFab sees the drive correctly under "Target" field but if I select it manually from "Source" fieald I get the abovementioned message.
What to do???

I'm using Platinum 3.0.5.0 and I tried to clone a PS2 game (RE4) to backup. I received no errors at all. It successfully completed both the copy process as well as the burn process. When I tried to use the cloned copy in the PS2, it asked to insert a PS2 format disk. PS2 would not read the clone at all. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Either buy a mod chip or swap magic DVD. You will need one of those to successfully play a burned backup copy of any game
