Platinum users will receive a free upgrade. If you're just an express or gold user, I'm pretty sure there will be an upgrade fee...just as if you upgraded from ...let's say, express to platinum or gold to platinum.

I think I remember fengtao saying there would be separate updates for Gold & Express users that want to continue using individual products.

Right...I remember that too. Fengtao is a man of integrity, I'm sure he will continue to support those users who choose not to upgrade. I don't believe for a second that he would abandon any of his customers.

I looked, and may be blind, but I did not notice a way to report problems with the new Beta...

I'm attempting to backup Disc 3 of Season One of Quantum Leap. After a couple of minutes of reading the original disc, the time remaining for Task 1 starts to climb. After about 3-4 minutes of that, an Error 400 from Read is presented and the copy fails...

Anyone with an idea of where I can locate some information about how to correct this?

I'm using two Dual Layer DVD's 1-NEC 3450 and the other another NEC 3340 (I think). I selected DVD9 for the copy.

Thanks.

No need to purchase anything, you already have platinum (yes, comprised of express and gold), so you're all set. As I already said, platinum owners will receive a free upgrade...

Does anyone have problem viewing video on iPOD that burning from DVDFab Platinum 3 Beta?!
Problem seen: movie plays and stop, continue itself after few seconds but no audio.

Any resolution for this problem will be appreciated.

Since it's a read error, I'd send to .IFO files to Fengtao...here's a copy and paste of his instructions:

1) Open an Explorer window, and navigate to VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD.
2) Copy all files ending with .IFO to hard disk.
3) ZIP the IFO files on hard disk to one file. Name it with a readable filename, like Stealth_UK.zip.
4) Send the zip file to fengtao(at)dvdidle.com, you need replace (at) with @.

Not sure if this will help, but you may want to try clone mode. I've done about 25 episodic discs in this mode with no failures.

So far Version 3, Beta 7 seems to work fine. Small suggestion: when the reading and writing drive are the same I would like to see the original DVD ejected when the message appears asking for burnable media to be inserted - like the copy is ejected when the burn is completed. Had perfect burns on my notebook using external USB BENQ 1655 and external USB hard drive for temp and working files.

Still have to try beta 7 on the computer where I was having problems with not all burners appearing - and some vanishing at times! On one of my systems with three internal burners all drives are seen every time and the burns were perfect.

Keep up the good work and the betas coming!!

Tried version 3 beta 7 on Pirates of the Caribbean. Everything went GREAT but set booktype to DVD-ROM didn't work when I checked it before I burned the DVD. Should it be turn on before ripping to HD first or like I did before burning? Used DVD info pro to show media tye, booktype, etc. Is it a problem in version 3 beta 7. I'm human so I could be the mistake. Hahahaha. Only premium media +r with newest firmware for lite on DVD writer. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!

Solution was to download lite-on booktype 135, insert blank dvd, run booktype 135 and change to dvd-rom, leaving program running while I opened dvdfab 3 beta 7 set setting in it to booktype to dvd-rom. check with lite-on booktype 135 and it said dvd-rom and so did dvd info pro. Is there a way that dvdfab could include some type of compatiblity for liteon ldw-811s with firmware HSOR (newest firmware) so I don't have to use lit-on's program in the background? More programs to use is a pain if you know what I mean. Don't take me wrong DVDFab is #1 with me!

Version 7 Beta has introduced a problem with the CLONE option. Version 6 worked fine however now with Beta7 I immediately get a write error when selecting START. This is prior to reading the Source DVD.

Beta 8 still does not delete temp files in Main movie or full disc mode. We are making progress though, no more 400 errors.
