Hi,

I don´t what's the problem, but I can tell that I once have a ASUS E616 and I've so many problems that I've give up and bought a Toshiba SD-M1712. I've not any problems since then. The E616 works more or less fine with pressed DVD's but not with recorded DVD's. For instance, when I try to playback a film with, say for instance 5 GB, compressed with DVDShrink it's always fail. But if the film did'nt reach the 4.7 GB then it's work fine.

I would try with another DVD Rom from other brand.

Good luck.

Hi stayjo and welcome to cdfreaks.

Error 400 is a general transcoding error and doesn't really give us much specific info.

I know that "some" users were receiving error 400 and the problem was resolved when the source disc was read from a burner and not a ROM drive.

I'd try to read and burn from your NEC.

Thanks for your answer but when I try to read the DVD from my NEC burner DVDfab gives also the ERROR 400 code.

But when I install a lower version of DVDfab it can copy the DVD without any problems.
It tried it with dvdfab 2.9.x.x.

I burned the dvd from a NERO Image with Nero Express, can that be the problem?

Hi.

I've noticed that there are a new beta version of DVDFab.

But what I told you yesterday, really happened. I've give up of ASUS DVD-Rom E616 player. Perhaps, it was only a bad DVD structure, and perhaps ASUS did some test, that Toshiba SD-M1712 does not. This happen about two years ago.
