    Hey Chrissy

The only time I have an issue with the sound to low is when I do a backup with the 5.1 audio track and play it on my TV which doesn't have the 5.1 speaker setup.

As far as I know DVDFab has no setting to increase volume, if you use main movie mode you are able to change the default audio track to what ever your playback device supports.

If need be there is a free program that I use that can be used to increase the volume, however since this is the DVDFab forum I will only give help with that program in either the movie copy software forum or by PM.

@ SJ , I understand if a software is not a competitor of DVDFab it is OK to post about it in the DVDFab forum. DVDShrink is the best example of this since many use it as the compressor when using the free after trial version of DVDFab.
BTW I got this from what another mod posted so not just my own thoughts on this.
A different mod also made a good point on staying with the specific software of a subforum . His response was basically this. " If you post about a different software & say "this software does it better" . That doesn't help the OP solve the problem with software they have already bought. IMO a good point.
So IMO if a software is competition to be used instead of DVDFab then no posts about it allowed. If a software is to be used in conjunction with or as an aid DVDFab then it should be OK .

The above quote from Alan is what we go by here in the DVDFab forum, although we have and still do talk about other products we use in the DVD FAB Products Discussion Thread help is not given on them, "at the discretion of CDF Moderators" is the key factor of Alan's statement and rule of all forums.

Even if a software is not a competitor doing what you suggest would open the door for the discussion on other software which would lead to confusion over time

First my apologies to chrissy_ozzstyle for taking the thread some off topic. I would like to get it back on topic.

I accept that & go by it . I just sometimes bring a point like this up for discussion . It IMO helps to clarify things.

SJ , That sounds reasonable & I guess I hadn't caught on to that . Help is not given for other software even when it is posted in the subforum . I didn't check but I thought I had seen help with using DVDShrink to compress a rip with DVDFab given.

I get that but that is what moderation is for . Not letting it get out of control.

This is also is a quote from Alan:

On the lower sound. I have one standalone that records sound at a muck lower level than other standalones I have.
So chrissy_ozzstyle have you had the lower sound level any time previously ? For example with an older version of DVDFab.

Querry about using an external harddrive, that is fine to burn the dvd too - but the problem is i have to use my internal dvd player to read the dvd and it's in the reading of the dvd that it crashes.
OK so I updated my DVDFAB to 8116Qt but it still crashed my computer - this is what the crash screen comes up with:

Hello, I am new to this forum so I hope I am doing this correctly. I know this is an old post, but I am having the exact same problem, only it is a dell pc. The dvd fab version is 8.1.5.9 qt. actually it is on my friends computer. I have dvd fab on mine and I have not had this problem. I recommended that she buy it so I feel responsible to fix it. I downloaded and installed imgburn as suggested in this forum. I followed the instructions to set it up but it just keeps doing the same thing. Can someone please help? Thank you,
    Lisa

Unless you tell us your computer specs we cannot help you. This software comes with a free trial, The free trial is there for a reason , not all all computers are equal. Most yes, some not. Just saying it a " Dell" does not help. Post a logfile of a the last failed try. If you had the exact same problem as the post above you should never have bought the software, the post above had problems with all the versions.

it never gets to the burn process. it copies the dvd, and then the tray pops out to put a blank disc in and at the same time the pc starts the shutdown process saying that it is shutting down to prevent damage to your system. etc. As I said it is on my friends computer so I do not have a copy of the log file. I wouldn't know how to make one anyway. But the message was exactly the same as the post that I replied to from "chrissy" I think. I will check the the video card driver as you suggested and go from there.

    Hi Lisa

Please go into common settings and click on "Read" located on the left side, on the read settings page at the bottom place a check mark in the box next to "Do not eject the source disc when finished copying", and try again if you still have the shut down issue try selecting c/user/user name/documents/DVDFab in the target drop down and give that a shot.

    Hi Storm Jumper,
thanks for replying so quickly. Everything is up to date. I am now trying your next suggestion, which is checking the box to not eject the disc after copying. But, should I still have it set up to use image burn as the burn engine?
Another question is, shouldn't I be able to use the temp file that DVD Fab created to burn the disc? I have tried this several times and it shows the file folder as being there but not the files. I know the files are there but they are not the ones that DVD FAb is looking for. This is all way over my head but I am trying to make work. Thanks so much for your help.

What do you mean ..."The files are there but not ones DVDFab is looking for" ?, the only time I've heard of missing files after the rip was .ISO after DVDFab created them but that issue has not been reported in a long time.

when I try to open the file in the source field in DVD Fab the folder is there but it shows no files. But when I open the same file outside of DVD FAb it shows files there. For Ex: VTS_01_1, VTS_01_0.bup, VIDEO_TS.Bup VTS_01_TS.BUP. Those are all of the different kinds of files in one folder. So, I assumed those must not be the file extensions that DVD FAb was looking to open since they don't show up when I open the folder in DVD FAb. I am clueless when it comes to video file extensions so I didn't know how else to explain it. Anyway, I did get dvd fab to work on my friends pc by changing the target file to the temp folder as you suggested. But it doesn't automatically open image burn. You have to close out of dvd fab and then open image burn. It took awhile to figure out how to burn it that way but it worked! Thank you so much for all of your help!
Also, after more searching I did find more people in the DVD fab Forum that had the same problem and they were all newer laptops. Their solutions were all the same to do it in a 2 step process. One of them mentioned that he thought Silverlight might have been conflicting with DVD FAb, but that doesn't make any sense to me. I thought I would mention it anyway. Maybe it will help someone else in the future.

Those are standard DVD Video files and they're the ones you need to burn to the final DVD.

You can set up DVDFab to use ImgBurn and burn them automatically for you or alternatively you can burn the finished files manually with ImgBurn if you prefer.

There's a guide for setting up DVDFab with ImgBurn in SJ's signature and it's the recommended burn engine for DVDFab.

If this issue was or is on a laptop try connecting an external DVD burner and select the external burner as the target, here is the guide...

Sorry, he's stopped using it for some reason.

It used to be at the bottom of all his posts.
