Are there more extra charge items in this release? I now see DVD Creator and Blu-ray Creator as trials in my licenses.
I purchased lifetime registrations for everything that never expire, and it looks like new features keep getting released using this technique to still have a way to charge people who purchased lifetime licenses of everything. -

I know what you mean. I too have lifetime licenses and they still try and suck more do$h from ya. As if it isn't expensive enough.Quote:Are there more extra charge items in this release? I now see DVD Creator and Blu-ray Creator as trials in my licenses.

Even though there is now 9 options/modules you are not required to buy all of them, I myself have a lifetime license for DVD Copy & DVD Ripper as far as the other features I have no use for them so will not pay for them. -

Unfortunately that seems to be the way with most things these days.Quote:I know what you mean. I too have lifetime licenses and they still try and suck more do$h from ya. As if it isn't expensive enough.

But what is a DVD Creator and Blu-ray Creator? I already purchased the features to Copy, Rip, Transfer, and multiple Converts. -

From the change log of v8150...Quote:But what is a DVD Creator and Blu-ray Creator? I already purchased the features to Copy, Rip, Transfer, and multiple Converts.
"New: Added two brand new options: "DVD Creator" and "Blu-ray Creator". User can convert video files on PC to DVD or Blu-ray disc which can be played on standalone player." -

Thanks StormJumper.
I guess my issue is my expectations. What I purchased was a lifetime version of DVDFab All-In-One (all the powerful DVDFab products). Multiple times I've purchased additional features as the definition of all the powerful DVDFab products continues to change. -

I too had the same expectations since I have a lifetime license for the Platinum version, but to me it's no big deal because I still have lifetime registration for DVD Copy(was DVD Ripper) & DVD Ripper(was DVD to Mobile).Quote:Thanks StormJumper.

The other features I doubt I'll ever use them so no need to buy them, course I do have other software/tools and personally I don't rely on any one program even if they aim to be a All-in-One software which to me becomes nothing more then BW.
Just my .02¢

You purchased a lifetime license for at the time was everything, but these new features were added later. In a dream world you should get all the new features at no additional cost, but this is the real world. So no.Quote:Thanks StormJumper.

Agree. And, like SJ, my lifetime Copy and Ripper licenses are all I need.Quote:You purchased a lifetime license for at the time was everything, but these new features were added later. In a dream world you should get all the new features at no additional cost, but this is the real world. So no.

"You purchased a lifetime license for at the time was everything, but these new features were added later. "
You don't know why we purchased the lifetime license.
I purchased it at the time because it was marketed in a way that created the expectation that buying it meant I would have a product that would stay current and grow with the market. It was not "sold" as lifetime of being stuck with what I bought once.
An expectation that apparently others were lead to believe at their time of purchase as well.
It is what it is. But the idea that we purchased a life time license so we could be bilked over and over for more money is false. -

I think the point is that that you have a lifetime licence for whatever functionality you bought at the time.
The fact that they've introduced new products since then doesn't affect your existing deal and you're not compelled to buy any additional licences unless you want those additional functions.

As I started this I'll make one final comment and move on. This goes back to motivations for buying the lifetime all in one license.Quote:I think the point is that that you have a lifetime licence for whatever functionality you bought at the time.

Some people say the all in one is the all in one at the time. New products are introduced which you may not need, and therefore do not need to buy.
But...
Some people, at least myself, purchased the lifetime all in one bundle with the expectation that new features would be added that would be available without extra fees. This was my expectation.
And...
I purchased things that I've never used, and may never use, as part of my lifetime all in in one bundle. I was more than willing to buy the bundle, including things I had no immediate and possibly even long term need for because this I assumed was the trade off for getting additional features in the future that you would not need to pay an additional amount for.
So...
Looks like my exceptions were incorrect. Looks like I purchased a lifetime license for things I've never used and may never use with no trade off of getting other incremental future features without an additional fee.
My recommendation...
To potential customers - only buy what you know you will use now.
To the DVDFab team - I suggest selling bundles, but not describing it as an open ended all-in-one bundle therefore setting improper exceptions. If you feel compelled to call it an all-in-one bundle I suggest describing it as a bundle of all of the currently available products to set proper expectations. -

i bought a life time license because of the way the life time license and what it meant to have one was marketed to me at the time. -

There was a Christmas special offer where DVDFab sold "All-in-One lifetime licences" which the user received a free DVDFab HD Video MP3 Player, and upcoming DVDFab products.
Here is a response from DVDFab on this matter...
"Many users wrote to us asking if they can get DVDFab HD Video MP3 Player for free after the ending of our 2011 Christmas special offer. Here is our response -- another round of campaign of DVDFab All-In-One Lifetime Gift. From now on, anyone buys DVDFab All-In-One Lifetime Gift, besides DVDFab All-In-One Lifetime (Win/Mac), they can still get DVDFab HD Video MP3 Player, and upcoming DVDFab products for free."
There was a range of purchase dates earlier; you had to buy before the cutoff date to get the player as part of the deal. Send an email to sunny(at)dvdfab.com and her to check the date of your order to see if you qualify. You will need to tell her the email address you used to make the purchase.

While at this time I also have the only 2 features that I would currently use, I agree with this post & find this to be a less than honorable business practice.Quote:As I started this I'll make one final comment and move on. This goes back to motivations for buying the lifetime all in one license.

I wasn't aware of that and that possibly puts a different complexion on things but it depends on what they meant by 'up and coming products'.Quote:Hi Wombler

Was it just the modules they had planned at the time or was it forever and ever amen?
Personally speaking I think the second version is unlikely but it is badly worded and open to interpretation.
