DVDFab 8.1.3.3 Qt Beta is out:

Also, a new version of DVDFab Profile Editor is out too. You can use it to create your own profile for your device, and share it with other DVDFab users.

DVDFab 8.1.3.3 Qt Beta (November 12, 2011)

New: Updated language files.
Fix: Preview is still shown after DVDFab is closed.
Fix: A crash problem when moving preview in certain cases.

DVD Ripper:
Fix: An error 504 when converting DVD using ipod.nano.h264 profile, in certain cases.

Blu-ray Ripper:
Fix: An error 504.00 when converting Blu-ray using mp4.h264.aac profile, in certain cases.
Fix: An error 504 when converting Blu-ray to MKV or iPad, in certain cases.
Fix: An error 504 when converting Blu-ray using xbox360.wmv10 profile, in certain cases.

Blu-ray 3D Ripper:
New: Detection for "Left-eye based“ or "Right-eye based" is fully correct now.
New: Added ActiveShutter and PassivePolarized profiles for 3D TV.

2D to 3D Converter:
New: Added ActiveShutter and PassivePolarized profiles for 3D TV.

Are we allowed to post problems in this thread in reference to this update? if so, then the *Fix: Preview is still shown after DVDFab is closed* doesnt seem to be fixed for me. Ive closed dvdfab but according to my TM dvdfab is still running at 148,204K and my pc wont shut down until i force it to shut down.

Are you by chance having this issue on an XP system ? if so did you modify the registry with the DVDFab player file when XP users had problems running the QT version ?

yes i am on xp but had no idea of any registry tweak or anything needing to be done. (sorry i dont read any posts really except for this one). if its technical could you please provide link with instructions? is this why merge never works in qt for me as well? Thanks for reply btw

I am experiencing an issue where if I use the /CLOSE command line, the UI is closed, but the process is still running under task manager. This causes DVDFab to freeze the next time it is opened.

I am using Win7 x64.

What happens if you click on the close button in the upper right corner instead of using the command line ?

At the risk of sounding like I'm flaming. This isn't a practical solution for anyone that uses a script to automate the use of DVDFab. I use such a mechanism and it has lost all "automation" due to my having to exit the media center open the task manager and close the dvdfab software out. closing it via the x works also. Either way the "automation" which is a wonderful factor especially with the wife being lost is my concern not wether the software works one way or another.

A new version should function identically as a prior version with the exception of new features. Old functionality, which /CLOSE CLI is, should not be lost.

Additionally any software that is paid for should not undergo such issues, it demonstrates a lack of professionalism.
