Kenbra, looking at the imageburn screen and trying to understand the options, it seems that once you have the VIDEO_TS folder with the VTS_x_x.VOB files created by DVDFab, to burn it using imageburn you need to do two operations at least. The first is the BUILD (Ctrl+Alt+B) and then once you have the image done, the function "write image to disk" should be called. Is that correct?

If not, please explain how you do it.

I am afraid to produce a very bad DVD using wrong options.

DVDFab does is in one single step, but it is interesting to understand other burning programs.

tks

I had the same problem.

Windows blocked the download first.

Trend Micro virus continued the block.

Please find out why your latest download has virus signatures.

Thanks!

There have been a couple release's that the VSO burn engine in DVDFab did not work up to par.

Started using Imgburn then and liked it enough to keep using it.
The more I use it the more I like it.

Just choose Imgburn as the burn engine in DVDFab it goes straight to Imgburn as 1 process.

I take it you are using the VSO burn engine which has problems with verify...you can change the burn engine to ImgBurn if you want to use a verify process.
BTW...ImgBurn is better anyway because you have better controlof your drive/burner and write speed

I just got IMGBurn and made it the write option for Fab,... haven't tried it yet,.. will it just burn like the VSO did? Do I need to tweak anything? I am just happy to not be relying on Nero anymore

Virus problem remains. and remains specific to this current beta download link.

Windows blocks the download link and or file.

Trend Micro blocks the link and or file.

McAfee blocks the link and or file.

Please find out why only this latest down has this problem.

Virus alerts are serious, and we now have them from 3 sources for the same download link.

I do not recommending this beta version until this is corrected.

If you would like the virus to play with, just let us know and we'll send it to you.

Thanks!

I've had similar problems burning discs. My situation revolves around the 'layer break', and occurs in DVDFab and ImgBurn. If I happen to chose the wrong layer break in Imgburn it fails. I haven't figured out what qualifies as a 'wrong' layer break yet though.

I know you are burning a single layer disc as your image is right at 4gb but therw is a setting for layer break, is that selected? Either way, toggle it and try again, just for s.a.g.

Well I have McAfee and I didn't get any warning from it or windows defender and I have always d/l from here since ver 2.9 so you must have something else going on before you start blaming DVDFAB

Can anyone one help me with this,I have had problems with the burning engine as well the verifying of data has completely failed on it.It doesn't work with dvd-rw or + rw disks anymore. And on my computer when i burn stuff with the vso burning engine dvd+rw work on my pioneer dvd recorder but when i burn a dvd-rw disk and try to play it it just says DVD-rw where it should say dvd-video.Anyone know how i could fix this issue don't know why my dvd-rw disks don't work my dvd recorder is fully compatible with these products.

To tell you the truth, this is the first coaster in a long time... lucky me.

Tried to burn the same files using the VSO burning engine... worked flawless as usual, just finished right now.

Something not good with the imgburn... maybe the "max burning speed"? I don't like burning over 4x, DVDFab is set to burn at 4x and it burns steady and solid at 3.2x. The imgBurn was pedal to the metal at more than 7x. I could not find where to setup max speed at imgBurn, yet. Midia is Memorex 16x printable... like I said, it was the first coaster in a long time.

Now what? I am afraid to use imgBurn again as the burning engine and start to renew cup holders at home... any ideas?

Try once more with imgBurn at lower speed just to make sure?

... updating information on my post above:

The media used is Memorex 16x Printable DVD-r, DVDInfoPro Identified it as RITEKF1.

According to digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm, the RitekF1 is a 2nd class media, "OK" disks. I can't discuss it, I have no coasters from it for long time... and then this first when using ImgBurn.

But then, at second attempt now under 4x it worked.

Memorex is very low quality media and the RitekF1 ID is highly problematic put them together and you have

End of message ...ditch the Ritek and you will have a nice day

What StormJumper said and if they do burn better slower, try 8x with them to finish them up but switch brands of DVD's and you can burn full speed most times if you want to.

Start Imgburn by itself
Pick Discovery, put your disc in and close tray
Go to Tools / Automic Write Speed
Set the Write Speed where you want it and then click ADD

You will need to do this with each different disc that you use.
But once it is set that is the speed Imgburn will use the next time you put that type of disc in the burner.

Hope this helps

You will want to set it at about half of the speed that the disc is rated for.

FYI: after reading the virus concerns I downloaded 5.2.3.0 & scanned it (separately) with 5 programs:
Avast AV
Firefox 3 Built In Anti Virus
Multi Virus Cleaner
Dr Web AV
Windows Defender

They all have the most recent definitions. All reported 5.2.3.0 as clean.
