I think the point was it looked like the extras were being compressed at different rates. They often have much lower bitrates than the main feature.

Well if some want the whole movie I guess Fengtao is going to have to tweak that issue. I just do Main Movie only unless it's a shorter flic like about 90 mins. or just close to 2hrs.

Signals is the VSO engine downloaded by default even though you check it off on installation in Fab? I always seem to have a VSO folder even after doing a clean uninstall. Unless XP Home has one built in already? Thnx.

didn't see if this was included in the thready already - cool, I really hope the FLV 'mobile' output works good, great addition.

Anybody else notice that full backup to a hard drive folder now defaults the name to have underscores "_" instead of spaces?

Can't believe all the updates, well worth the money, thanks.

Just wanted to let you know that I converted 3 DVD's with the mobile option (DVD to iPod - 5.5) and everything worked well. No tough nuts to decrypt, but the extended version of Dune is almost 3 hours in length, and it took about 2 1/2 hours to convert. Who knows if that is fast for a dual processor laptop.

I use DVDFab HD Decrypter for decrypting only then I use dvd shrink to shrink it then I use free easy CD /DVD Burner to burn it. My copies come out great you can compress more on some parts of the disc and not so much in other areas using dvd shrink plus as for the adds on dvd you can replace them with a still picture witch saves a lot of space as far as mega bits on a single layer disc

This is a wonderful program.

I just made a generic avi with audio copy 2 pass of The Hulk. Totally unplayable with every media player. Audio is fine. Video is in fast motion. will try 1 pass.

I'm not sure--I have never unchecked the box to see. I have other apps that use the VSO SDK to add burning capabilities, so I think for me it would be there anyway.

Haven't done a generic avi recently. I'll have to give it a try and report back.

Tried Xvid and h264. One pass or two pass makes no difference.
Even tried changing the fps.

Not sure if this thread has been covered. I just downloaded DVDFab version 5.2.00 onto my laptop. I have been using version 5.0.5.8. and have had no problems for a long time. I just copied a movie disk with the new version and it won't play on my older JVC HR-XVC33U player but will play on my HP Laptop. My old player dooesn't support packet writing. Should I try SAO? What boxes should I check or uncheck in order to make a playable copy on my older machine? Thanks

greenliszt, In read use SPTI for I/O mode. In write try SAO, put a check mark in Set Booktype if you ar useing +R media.

Seems like a great update except for 1 thing:

The "Quality" gauge stopped working in this one. It gives false readings when you set it to DVD5 or DVD9 as to how many gigs you're burning. I noticed this while doing a "Merge". It worked fine in 5.1.0.0. -- but not now.

There's no way three 2-hour DVD's are only are taking up 4gigs of space at 100% quality with the program set to write a DVD9 disc and use a max of 8 gigs of space.

I've done enough merges to know that's not right.

Thnx for the pull up signals. I basically use ImgBurn all the time so I stopped installing it. Anyways I overlooked the fact you have a link to VSO support so I'll read up on that as well. I doubt it's a better burning utility than ImgBurn, but I need to learn more about what it actually is anyway.

Tried to back up Wall E, will not play movie from main menu on dl disc, also error when tryng full disc back up.

I just put my disc in to make sure it would play and no problems. I do movie only though and I did it with the 3rd to previous version of Fab. Try doing a search as Wall E I think has been covered already.

P.S. Anyone experiencing difficulties when posting? Some keys like my apostrophe and back slash and forward arrow keys are not working. Sometimes they even open a quick find search window on bottom left of task bar. Time for new keyboard or some technical difficulties? Thnx.

having trouble with Narnia Prince Caspian. DVD fab Indicates that it's has completed successfully but it only rips 552 mb.

After getting the latest update (5.1.2.2) I get process Failed erro messages.

any help????

We can only help you if you help us, what error messages are you getting? Maybe a screenshot would help. The process can fail for a number of reasons and there are differnt error messages , we have to know what one you recieved.

JANDM I very seriously doubt that Fengtao would associate himself w/ImgBurn if it was a lousy burner. Does that make just a lil sense? Verify your burns and it'll tell you the real story and make sure the media is quality. TY's n VERB's and some others. We have DVD Identifier. It'll break down who's who n what's what. Digital artifacts are a result of a lot of things. Especially crap media.
