THANKS, WILL HAVE TO CHECK MY BIOS, IT IS AWARD 5.02 IN A HP MACHINE, THEY DO NOT LEAVE MANY OPTIONS FOR THE USER IN THE BIOS, THE AHO__S! BUT WHAT I SAW THAT WAS INTERESTING IS SOMEONE DOWNLOADED NEW MATRIX STROGAGE DRIVERS AND THAT CHANGED THEIRS FROM PIO TO DMA, I WISH I COULD FIND UPDATED DRIVERS WHICH WOULD WORK ON MY MACHINE! Sorry about the caps. I am lazy.

your SATA drive is reported as PIO MODE, whats your bios settings?

lower the write speed to 8x or 12x

and my advice for not overspeeding that media is a really good suggestion. after all MCC004 is 16x media and you are writing at 20x.

did you check out the thread for the crossflash. they are the same drive just the firmwares are slightly different.

well I checked my bios, there is a sata1 controller and i tried IDE mode instead of RAID, and got the blue screen of death, I noticed in my storage controllers there is a sata raid controller for the g33 expess chipset my computer uses, and I think RAID is the only mode sata1 can operate in, there is a SATA2 controller, the only option for that is enabled or disabled, and as far a the burn speed, it only gets up to 11.5 or so on sl discs, never had trouble untill is used the beta version, but when i had a samsung sh-s203n drive I did have burn troubles when using sl discs, maybe i did need to reduce the burn speeds, i will try that if i run into trouble in the future, again thanks

Hi Slove,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. I'm stuck at work still and on a POS pc, so I'm going totally by memory, this together with too many hours at work...not a good thing at my age . I can't see your screenshot well enough on this pc either.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that SATA ODD's won't work properly on a RAID configured SATA controller. I saw that your IDE selection resulted in our favorite win...doh(s) screen...the BSOD.

Do you have the capability to select AHCI mode in your bios?

I'll take a peek at your motherboard and chipset when I get a chance, but I think you're right about having limited choices in this bios.

Anyway, best of luck

Can someone tell me why I'm getting this error since the last update.

"Failed to set data for "AttemptCount""

Haven't had a successful burn since. Error pops up when there's 16 seconds left to finalize the disk. I've gotten with every movie I've tried and a new blank disk has been used everytime.

Try the new version 5.0.7.0 Beta and see if that helps is all that I can say as I have never seen that error before

MAINEMAN:

thanks for the reply, I will check the bios for achi when I turn off my machine and reboot, there was three choices for the SATA1 controller, I am wondering what SATA1 and SATA2 refer to, I have six sata connections on my mobo, one is used for the hard drive, the chipset is a G33 express and the mobo is an Asus IPIBL-TX (only made for HP). the tx luckily is a atx not a micro atx and I have 2extra PCI slots w/four pcix4 and one pcix16 slot(s). Anyway that is besides the point, the way I understand it is that DMA is emulated in this machine, my drives perform well as far as speed and not making coasters (except with the Sammy S203N), so I dunno why everyone is so sorry for my situation, maybe I am missing something I don't know about, so I am open to all comments, thanks, will post about the achi option, the bios choices are terrible! Thanks HP for believing we all are idiots.
