I didnt know what you used, what are you burning it with? Try it again, maybe the blank disc was bad.

My mistake bamahusker, I assumed that if you were posting in the Fab Forum you used the Hddecrypter. DVD Decrypter is old and will not decrypt some movies correctly, use the the freeFab hdDecrypter and let us know the outcome.

alan i know it's outdated but DVD Fab Decrypter is free as far as Decryoting goes. It costs too much to get the full version,so i can't get it right now, especially as i'm saving to get a PS3 next month. But anyway you were right. it was a faulty DVD. I put another blank in and it worked fine. Thanks again.

What I would like to know, is when is Fab DVD brining out a version that can deal with Blu Ray DVDs? Their latest DVD Fab says it is a HD decrypter whatever that means. It certainly will not even read any Blu Ray DVD I try it with. I have written many times to DVD Fab asking when it will suport Bly Ray. All they say again and again is "Please wait". hey will not give any idea of how long..............

Not so sure. I didn't know it saved settings, and I had checked "shut down when complete" last time I used it. Thus it shut down while I was playing a game last night, I was livid.

I'm installing it now, as the VSO burning engine wasn't working for me at all.

your SATA drive is reported as PIO MODE, whats your bios settings?

lower the write speed to 8x or 12x

Hello everyone! Thank you Fengtao and team for a great product. I am having problems with the last few releases not playing in my Denon 5910 the backups will play in other players. (I have platinum) when I use Fab v.4120 they play fine in my Denon. I am no where near a software expert but I think there is a bug in the latest releases. Fengtao can you look into this when you are able. Great product I have recommended your product to many of my friends. Thank you!

I have 2 pioneer v 1.41 (newest update) and starting with DVDFAB 5.0.6.0, I started burning a lot of coasters. Gave up last night and went back to DVDFAB 5.0.5.0 and now everything seems to work great again. Don't know if I am the only one having this problem. If someone could answer another question I would love the help. As above I have 2 pioneer Dvd recorders, abit motherboard, 2 gig of memory, Pentium 4 3.4 ghz EXTREME processor, and defraged windows media xp pro. Hard drives are Western Digital 350 gig and 100 gig high speed drives (7200 rpm internal). Drives are rated at 16x but only a couple of times have I reached 9.2x in read or write mode. I use either Maxell or Verbatium DVD-R. With no other programs running, why can't I get a higher speed out of these drives. Answer to the problem or suggestion would be nice. Fentgao, I know we don't always give you credit because we know you are busy, but man you rock, your program is the best I have ever used and well worth the money I paid for it. So THANKS !!!!! Also a lot of my friends have bought DVDFAB upon my recomendation.

Hi boogerbear4u,

Do you have problem with DVDFab 5.0.6.5 Beta ?

5.0.6.5 has same VSO burning engine as 5.0.5.0, with an assert bug fixed.

5.0.6.0 has old VSO burning engine as 5.0.3.0.

Best Regards,
Fengtao

Although not related to version 5.x, even though I have tried it using this version as well, I am having a problem merging 2 CDs. I have a movie "Gangs of New York", that is on 2 CDs. The first half of the movie is on one CD the other half on the other CD. When I select the merge option, I select only the two parts of the movie, none of the director's commentary or other stuff on the CDs. It copies the movie contents into a merge folder, however, I am unable to burn the complete version onto 1 CD. When I attempt to merge the two parts located in the merge folder, only the first part is burned. I will attempt to merge to an ISO image and see if I can get it burned that way, but am looking for any assistance I can on this one. Thanks.

Let me clarify a bit more. The two parts of the movie are being burned to one CD, however, only the first part plays. How do I get the movie to automatically go from VTS_01_03.VOB (last part on first CD) to VTS_02_01.VOB (first part of second CD)? I thought this was what the merge option did?

Thanks again!

Am having problems with backing up Star Trey Voyager. I can rip the whole disk, remove all the copy protection, but cannot get the whole disk to burn to DVD9. Burn process fails during the write process on layer 2. Failed burning w/DVDFab 5.0.6.5 and w/Nero 6.6.1.4. Tried ripping DVDFab and w/DVD Decrypter (w/RipIt4Me front end). Also tried using DVD Rebuilder Pro 1.28.2 after ripping, once w/DVDFab and once w/DVD Decrypter.
DVD Shrink and DVD Rebuilder show >50% compression for DVD-5.
Work around: use DVD Shrink to extract 2 episodes and burn to DVD5.

Merge mode takes TITLES from different Sources and puts them in the same VIDEO_TS folder, with an IFO file that plays them back in order, it does not actually merge VOB files, although on most players the results look like it does. Start a new thread for this problem; it is too hard to follow questions and responses in a release notes thread.

Fentgao, yes i had problem making a copy with DVDFAB 5.0.6.0 and 5.0.6.5 beta. I was just burning coasters (tried both iso and packet write with both versions). But when i went back to 5.0.5.0 using iso instead of packet write, it made perfect copies. Did 2 disk, movie '21' and 'impact point' and both came out perfect. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't just complaining but figured I might not be the only one with this problem and hoped my input my help you (figure out what was wrong) or someone else that might be having the same problem. I thought it was my dvd drives at first. Problem never came up until I upgraded to 5.0.6.0 and also with 5.0.6.5. Like I said you are fantastic with this program and your work is very much appreciated. I wouldn't even dream of using anything else!!! Oh and if anyone is looking for dvd drives newegg.com has pioneer ide and sata drives for around $30.

it is abit confusing, I have SATA drives and in the device manager you can see a direct memory access (DMA) controller, it mimicks dma mode but with dvdfab it shows that my drives are in pio mode, this is not correct, I have tried to reset dma but it still shows up as pio - I get good burn times (rip and burn) for a dvd9 disc about 20-23 minutes, so I can't be in pio mode! hope you make sense of that, as for the beta version, i reinstalled the last finished version and burned the disc just fine, something is buggy with the beta burn engine (I beleive).

SLOVEHEART,

please read

and my advice for not overspeeding that media is a really good suggestion. after all MCC004 is 16x media and you are writing at 20x.

did you check out the thread for the crossflash. they are the same drive just the firmwares are slightly different.
