This is from VLC

Strange thing is...the good file says the same.
That is strange.I don't use the AAC codec in DVDFab, but I don't think it supports 6-channel audio. Are the audio streams in all the originals the same (i.e. all AC3/5.1)? I will try a sample encode with that profile tomorrow and see if it behaves the same way for me. That audio bitrate looks funny too, but may be normal for AAC.

I noticed that the file extension is .mp4A (apple codec) just rename it to just .mp4 and it shoulds solve your problem

Yeah I saw that too. No idea why VLC says that because the file type is .mp4 when I go look at the file.

I think the actual file extensions are .mp4(post # 90) The mp4a in the list is the audio codec used.

Vlc see it as .mp4a because the container has/had been done with Itunes most likely, try and rename it again even if it is the same and see if it helps

Ciao
Sure, you have definitely being with CDFREAK for centuries.....I am also certain that DVDFAB will proceed with what the majority of users wants.

Case and point....Nero...it seems to be also an available function within DVDFAB, (as many people are using it). But I am only using NERO Essential without (RECODE (trial only), NERO DVD Recorder & Video Decoder) those are not available. So I think I am one of those user that will be "left out in the Cold".

So here is more strange news in my saga. The files that don't look good show up like this:

S\TNGS2D1.mp4
Format: mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2
Duration: 00:45:31.0
Start Time: 0.000 s
Bit rate: 1414 kbit/s
Video: h264, yuv420p, 1920x1080 [PAR 0:1 DAR 0:1]
Audio: mpeg4aac, 48000 Hz, 5:1
Subtitle: dvdsub

See the 1920x1080? The good files show up as:

of Day It Has Been.mp4
Format: mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2
Duration: 00:45:1.4
Start Time: 0.000 s
Bit rate: 1403 kbit/s
Video: h264, yuv420p, 720x480 [PAR 0:1 DAR 0:1]
Audio: mpeg4aac, 48000 Hz, 5:1
Subtitle: dvdsub

But I haven't changed a setting in the Recode or DVDFab process. They all just come out like that now, and I wonder if the resolution is too high for PS3 to view.

ok im probably gonna get some sort of "read the guide" or whatever comment for this but what is ffdshow? ive never heard of it. also, maybe i installed this version of fab incorrectly but as far as these features go (New: Added DirectShow decoder support for Preview, which means preview can work like real DVD player now.
New: For preview, user can enter/exit full screen, and can switch audio while playing) there is no visible change from the last version. am i missing something here?

ok i see the info about the preview. i had automatically assumed that the feature would be automatic in the software not something id have to activate internally.

Dunno if I understood that quote. DVDFab allows burning with it's default VSO burn engine, Imgburn and Nero. If one doesn't have Nero or Imgburn, it's hardly being left out in the cold as DVDFab has it's own burning engine. Fengtao did us a favor there (probably because of the popularity of those 2 programs) for those who would prefer to burn with something else than what's in the program (providing the person had either or both of those programs). He didn't have to do that. I personally am glad he did as I have the other two and now I have 3 choices of what I want to use to burn. If I didn't have the other two, I could still get the job done within DVDFab.

Of course I appreicate Fengtao to include VSO burning engine (that was mighty kind of them).

Natually, we can't assumed that Fengtao to include ALL burner existed. It would be very impossible.

I think the main issues are some programs (NOT DVDFAB) are really too expensive for users. Moreover, these programs are sometimes strip to the basics (as in my NERO ESSENTIAL --> that came with my DVD Writer).

There are of course also Free stuff (like Imgburn); but being a non-techie, I personally find it too complicated to use. Of course there are tons that are too easy to use.

if you already have a trial of nero recode then you have the nero directshow filters installed.

if you want to use imgburn (which i suggest) its actually very easy. you only have to change one setting in imgburn to use it.

in the tools/ settings/ build/ check the dont prompt for image details and nothing else is needed.

if you have a burn speed selected in dvdfab then the burn speed will auto transfer to imgburn.

have you watched my videos i know ive told you about them months ago.

please stop making outrageous statments

Just paid for the program yesterday after using the trial time. I wanted to say "Thanks" to the creators of this software. It is well worth it. Also "Thanks" to everyone in here, I had a slight problem but found the fix in one of the threads.

OK everybody have a Q
Has any one noticed that the "Aspect Ratio" does not show correctly in main movie mode
Here is the deal, Aliens SE is in 4:3 (Full Screen) ..but DVDFab reads it as 16:9 (Wide Screen), I also notice that it shows the same on other movies that are in full screen....note that it will copy in the correct aspect ratio of 4:3 just shows as beinng in 16:9.
It does not show in reverse for any movie s
that are in 16:9 just ones that are in 4:3, hope I said this clear enough

The only problem I have caught with this beta is when you uncheck Subpicture and check display only forced subpicture you still get the subtitles though you shouldn't see them. This happend on A generic Xvid+source audio. The movie was End Of Days.

Am i misunderstanding what forced subpicture is? I thought it like the subtitles you see like in Star Wars when they are speaking another language and you see the english translation on the bottom.
