DVDFab / DVD Region+CSS Free Discuss, DVDFab 5.0.4.0 Beta is out at Movie copy software forum; I am still testing. I have installed the ffdshow version dated 17 June 2008 and no longer have the crashes, but do have the blocking and video problems with all my installed DirectShow stuff (elecard, AVS, Intervideo (old) and others). When switching audio streams it jumps back to the beginning

I'm not getting any audio in the preview, no matter what I try. If using "Internal", there is no right click option. If clicking "Direct Show", I get the right click option but still no audio.

OK, now I'm getting the audio but I l had to switch my Logitech 5500 control panel to "coax" (digital). Dunno why I should have to do that as with DVD Shrink, this switch is not needed (it plays the sound in analog rather than digital).

Why does the "Internal" setting not have the right click option? Also, when switching to a different sound setting, the movie should continue where it left off instead of going back to the beginning.

A change for the better in any case, hopefully these little things get worked out.

Note: I did not install that specific Direct Show filter that is posted here. I didn't put anything in the video and audio list when clicking "Direct Show". I do have various filters listed there,

Video
Nvidia Video Decoder
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7)
Nero DVD Decoder
Nero Video Decoder
Leadtek DTV Video Decoder

Audio
MPEG Audio Decoder
Nvidia Audio Decoder
Nero Audio Decoder 2
Cyberlink Audio Decoder (PDVD7)
Leadtek Audio Decoder

Hi, it's my first time posting, hopefully I can get some helpful feedback. I have the Task_2 failed! Error=115 message come up. I've been trying to backup some DVDs using the main movie option. When I updated to the 5.0.3.0, I could no longer burn anything, including movies I had previous success with. I hoped this update would solve it, but it didn't. I have all the latest updates of drivers, etc. and it's the same media I've always used, TDK. Please help!
Thanks.

The h264 problem was driving me crazy.

Unfortunately, since a deinterlacing feature has still not been implemented, the quality at anything higher than 320x240 is still unuseable due to the interlacing artifacts on many TV dvd shows. Yesterday I had to purchase another DVD ripper program that has this feature (most do)

I got Preview working. Uninstalled ffdshow and DVDFab 5, then reinstalled both. The only DirectShow filters with zero glitches is Nero DVD Decoder and Nero Audio Decoder 2. All the others either don't work or have occasional glitches. Also, found DVDFab 5.0.1.5 Beta was not overwritten with later releases as it should have been and was still installed, so removed it too. Tested using two different movies so far, same results.

The audio definitely has problems. I got it to work once using "Direct Show" check box with nothing in the two boxes below that. I then started experimenting putting different options in those two boxes and now have broken sound no matter what I choose (even with both Nero options). Now I can't even go back to the way I had it without the sound being really choppy. Some more work is definitely needed here. BTW, I also had the leftover Beta 1.0.1.5 in Add/Remove (that I just got rid of).

Tried to do the same. Uninstalled both of those two entries in Windows install and then installed it again. Same problems.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalled 4.1.1.7. I still can't burn from DVDFab. I used the same computer with the same media to burn other files, and it worked just fine. Can anyone help me?

I don't really want to install a Beta codec (the FFDShow one). DVDFab should not require a Beta codec for it to work right. Codecs are a tricky thing, one bad codec can effect other installed codecs. Dunno if this version of DVDFab borked something but now Gspot will not render a movie I just ripped. Says unknown Direct Show error (even after I un-installed DVDFab). This version of DVDFab definitely changed something because as I said, I got the sound to work once (without choppyness) until I started changing the settings in DVDFab. Now I can't get it to work (without the sound chopping) even at the one setting it worked before. I'm not too happy about this but I guess this is the chance one takes when installing Beta programs. I'm going to be a lot more hesitant now in installing Beta versions of DVDFab.

I am trying to reproduce these problems but I seem unable to, or my settings are not as yours. I get perfect video in my preview window. I am not sure why though. If everyone else is having some kind of problem then I am sure its there, I am just trying to see what it is. I do not get the same results as shown in post 25. Maybe its a conflict of codecs.

I've gone through a lot of DVDs and the ones that do have problems is the ones that have more than one sound stream in the title. Only one sound stream, then no problems with pixelations.

As your posted image only have one stream, can you check with a DVD that have more than one stream? Perhaps one with a commentary track and a regular movie track?

Maybe if everyone will start posting what Video and Audio codecs DVDFab is showing in that list will help in determining what codec combinations are working and which ones are not. I agree with what Alan said in that it could be codec conflicts.

I am still not having any issues, I wish I could reproduce this.

Alan, I notice you have your volume control off. Are you getting audio without choppyness and can you switch audio without choppyness? I'd also like to know which settings you have for the preview audio and video. I'm not having video issues, I'm having audio issues.

Exactly and carry on but don't expect it to work as planned. Different OS's, hardware setups, etc........
