Here is a bug in 4.0.6.5 ßeta, If you put it to use ImgBurn engine instead of the default VSO engine you can copy a D9 movie fine, However you can't burn a DL DVDFab thinks there is a SL blank in the burner when your using the ImgBurn engine even though you have a DL in there. Put DVDFab back to VSO and error is gone and you can burn the DL DVD.

ImgBurn would like an MDS but it is not ncessary. If the MDS is not selected, you can use the ISO and select the layer break manually.

just a note to add -- not sure if anyone else has had this ?

I installed V4.0.6.5 Beta as normal over the top of previous versions and when DVDFab started it had an "error message" but I was typing at the time so must have hit enter and this went off screen --- straight after this was the registraion screen -- which I ignored and DVDFab then shutdown ?

When I re-started from the destop icon, it all loaded fine -- no errors, the new beta version and had all my license details, etc....

Maybe this is a one off ? as I didn't do anything different from previous versions etc.....

Just to let poeple know.

Unfortunately this has been one of the most unstable releases I have experienced in a long time. I've tried running it on three different machines and all have been experiencing intermittent failures at some point during the copy process.

You and Bob are not alone. I have had this issue since 4.0.6.2. I get around it by just hitting cancel at the error message and things proceed normally. I find that it happens when I use Clone mode, and the error is delivered as soon as I hit START. One might think it is related to ImgBurn implementation as the error only showed up when that capability was added, however, the message is delivered much earlier than ImgBurn is called. I should experiment with VSO a bit and see if my result is the same as yours.

I have an external burner, the LG GSA-E60L and I am running Windows XP SP2.

DVDFab Platinum will Split my DVD but will not allow Imagetool to ISO the splits. I have been using Splits straight to Disc instead of burning with DVD Decrypter after checking then with DVD Shrink. This has been going on for some time.
Now the full Rip in this new beta will not allow Imagetool to ISO full disk. I use the ISO with Fairuse and I was told about the DVD to Moble But would like to use Fairuse any help to enable Imagetool would be nice.

I don't think this is the same problem. If i click on cancel......the only thing left to do is click finish and then you are back to the same thing. Click start again and the put DL media in prompt is back up.

Yes i am using Verbatim +R DL MKM001 MIS....

Edit:
Now if i Disable PP then it works ok.

Have you tried clicking on OK rather than Cancel? I agree with your finding on clicking cancel, but when I click on OK, I can go through the process again and this time it takes. I also use MKM-001.

Interesting about PP settings.

Yes - that is true if you actually go through the screens you think you should. When you click OK, the DVDFab screen presents you with a Pause and Cancel option along with ejecting the disc. Rather than press cancel as you think you should, just simply mount the disc again - in my case DVDFab picks up where it left off with no further errors.

And I will confirm that when VSO selected rather than ImgBurn, the error is not there. Also, in my case, the PP setting does not matter. It handed me the error with PP disabled.

Also, I sometimes get an error showing me that target disk is a data disk and I should use Clone to copy it. I resets the source as the drive containing my blank Verbatim DL. I click OK to the error message, reset the source back to the proper drive and all proceeds normally.

Last comment - somewhere in these forums there is a mention that the second burn crashes DVDFab. While going through the excercises above, I hit a combination of buttons basically to have DVDFab try again, and sure enough, I got the crash screen asking me to send a report. It has happened to me now a couple of times - I just have not looked into it closely enough.

No like i said we are talking about 2 different thing here.

I know what you are talking about also. This is not the same thing. There is no retry with this prompt. Only OK and Cancel.

Edit:
The more i think about it you cannot use PP anyway as it's in Clone mode......So actually there is no problem.

So user error on my part burned 2 DL's today with ImgBurn selected and PP disabled with no problems. 4.0.6.5 beta

Sorry Fengtao if you have looked into this

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still receiving this error using the current version of DVDFab Gold and ImgBurn:

'W 09:24:00 DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME) Failed! - Reason: Access is denied.'

I no longer get the pop-up screen where I have to pick Abort, Retry, Continue, but this shows up in ImgBurn's log file. Not a big deal, but thought I'd let you know.

I'm running 2 DVD drives (one internal, one external USB. Read from the internal, write to the external) on Vista Home Premium. Thanx for some great software!
