In the settings under pathplayer It says "Checks for multiple sets of BOV's in cells (like Easter eggs)" What is this supposed to mean.

Also what is supposed to be the default setting for pathplayer should it be disabled or enabled. Somewhere I thought I read that is had been changed to disabled.

Dear Fengtao, just got done burning my first movie using IMGBurn instead of the VSO engine. Thanks to troy and Stormjumper for giving me the info on which box to uncheck, the process went as smooth as silk. And, using Verb.'s I was able to burn the disk at 18x without a hitch or problem. Boy this is nice. You've turned a outstanding product into a even better one. Hard to believe but, there you have it. Thanks ~ Mike

Excellent! I grabbed it now for the first time, since I hit a disc in my collection tha the old DVD Decrypter couldn't handle (Dead Silence Unrated). DVDfab successfully ripped it in about half an hour.

I'm also happy to say that it works great under wine on Fedora 8.

Let me explain "Easter eggs" at first, sometimes DVDs will contains hidden content, which can only be accessed by specific way. For example, press "Play" button when a menu has been played between 25 - 30 seconds. It's implemented by using multiple sets of BOV, and DVDFab can scan for it.

For PathPlayer, you can leave it at default "Enable PathPlayer when necessary" for new protections. I suggest to use "Always enable PathPlayer", since you can use "Jump to first menu when disc inserted" and "Jump to main title when disc inserted" feature, which need PathPlayer be enabled. I do use it every time now. The trade-off is longer opening time, about 1-2 minutes.

when you say jump to first menu will it go to the "main menu"?

In most cases, the answer is "Yes".

Sometimes it will jump to Language selection menu, or "Theater version" / "Unrated version" selection menu, etc, if it comes before main menu.

yes i am experiencing the same thing here. Although i am a beta tester for LUK! i thought it might be my beta but glad i went through this thread for others with trouble.

I found a work around:
Only choose VSO or Nero for burning engine when shutting down Fab Plat app.

After you open it tell it to use ImgBurn and click Continue and all is good.

Then choose VSO or Nero before you close the app.

yeah pain in the rear but works for me with 4.0.6.2.

Fengtao fyi - 4.0.6.2 still has a problem under following scenario.

Nero is selected as burn prog.
In Common Settings>Write the checkbox for 'Overwite rewritable media automatically' is not selected.
Media is DVD+RW and contains data or information already.

The burn function does not succeed but gives error=31.

If the checkbox is checked there is no problem and burning succeeds - but I do not like to use this in case I automatically erase something by mistake.

This is just for your info - I do not use Nero to burn with when using FAB. Discovered this by mistake as I had left Nero as burn engine after experimenting with new 4.0.6.2 release. Disc I had inserted had a previous backup on it and I got the message.

There is not a problem under the same scenario with VSO or ImgBurn.

I have tried to back up the DVD "All In". I am using DVDFab Gold 4.0.6.2 and have had excellent success with it (I burn using Nero). DVDFab Gold gives me a error that it can't read the DVD and asks if I want to "abort, ignore, ignore all". The disk is fine. I have played it through and watched the movie.

Can anyone help?

I have the latest version of DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.0.6.2, i am trying to copy a Indian dvd movie(dual layer), but even after 30 min, i am still at the first screen opening source dvd d:.

But When i try ripit4me, i get this message
video_ts.ifo declares 4vts, and i am finding only 3 on disc.
this might be caused by a slightly
defective disc or scratches see the4 faq on that problem?

couldn't read sector 16 while parsing file system.

I am using latest version of ripit4me 1.7.1.0. any help with dvd fab hd decrypter is appreciated.

SPLIT function still fails on playback on Denon and Sony standalone players. Is there a correction in the near term?

I'm trying to tryout ImgBurn. I open DVDFab Gold, change write to ImgBurn, click OK at bottom (I do not see a Continue option) as some has said. It brings up ImgBurn after copying DVD, I put in a blank DVD, click on thr copy and get, cannot get rights to lock drive. Need a little help please.

Thanks for another great update. Had been having problems burning DL's for a while using VSO but between this update of DVDFab and updated VSO engine the DL's I could not back up before are working just fine now.

Update to ImgBurn V2.4.0.0 this issue has been fixed

The problem is with DVDFab not ImgBurn.

If you wanna know what has "got" the drive, get Process Explorer by sysinternals (this is kinda like Task Manager on super steroids). Click on the Find icon and type CdRom. It'll show you the thread which has a hold on the drive. So, there'll be no need to argue.

If you kill that thread, ImgBurn will be able to lock the drive for exclusive access.
