Great to see updates. Not sure I will be picking up that movie but I am sure the same type of protection will be seen again. Thanks for the continued development.

Thanks Fengtao and Ting - great work.
Just backed up 'Rush Hour 3' and 'Shoot 'Em Up' region 2's with absolutely no problems. Then for interest tried the burnt discs with DVD Shrink. Opened with no problems at all and even re-burnt to DVD+RW with Nero 8.

I Love My DVDFab.

Hi skyoak and welcome to cdfreaks,

The "file" is the program. This is the full-featured retail program. There are two choices, Platinum and Gold
(Take a look at the Fab home page).
The only difference between the 30 day trial version and the retail version is that the trial version ceases to work after 30 days unless you enter a reg key (purchased).

The final release versions are posted on Fengtao's homepage,
DVDFab.com.
The beta versions as well as the final release versions are posted right here on the Fab subforum (stickies at/near the top).

This is an extremely odd first post and question.

Sorry, I meant to include the freeware version also...
It is a ripper only...will not compress and has no integrated burn engine. Works great, if you want to stay with freeware:
DVDFab HD Decrypter
Also posted on the forum with the retail versions.

I assume a lot of people and myself have. I didn't know there was fake ones, and this is certainly not the place to talk about something of that nature. Why buy a fake one when you can get a "legit" one?

i'd like to give a big thanks to the creators of this program. i appreciate the time and effort that goes into the program, as well as the bandwidth that is distributed.

I would like to throw my 2 cents into the pot :-)....... it concerns resurfacing/polishing of dvd/cd surfaces.
If there is a problem with a disc of yours (saw this on a website) grab these useful tools. Please test on a blank DVD-R or CD-R if you do not believe me and place scratches yourself. :-P
1:Orbital Buffer for polishing/waxing a car. Make sure you put a terry cloth towel on the buffer.
2:Wax/Polish you use for your car. (I use Mothers Step 3:Carbunara Wax.....Experiment with other brands if you like.)

Place 2-4 drops of wax/polish on the opposite side of the label, spread it out if you like. Using the palm of 1 hand to HOLD the disc, put the label side on your palm. Using the other hand, hold the buffer and turn it on. While the buffer is spinning, bring the palm of your hand w/ the disc toward the buffer. Press disc slightly into the buffer pad and move palm w/disc in a left/right motion while it rotates. Pull palm and machine away from 1 another. Voila, a cleaner surface.
To much pressure will cause the center of the disc to deteriorate and get wax into it......so practice will create a cleaner surface.

I know there are other machines on the market, but if you have those tools laying around, they come in extremely handy. No point in spending 500$ on a resurfacing kit now and you can give your car a waxing as well. ;-)
Happy new year to all.

Edit: FYI i tested this on a 360 game, put the disc into the machine and it still loaded up :-)

I've been using dvdfab for more than a year now and I think this is the program yet I use for dvd copying. This update is excellent, however in addition with the SAW 4 support and the annoying LIONSGATE movies, here is another movie that just released that I had problem with. GOOD LUCK CHUCK BY JESSICA ALBA. I had to used MAINMOVIE copy only coz everytime I tried to copy the entire dvd I get stuck around 5% when transferring it to my harddrive. Thanks fengtao I hope you'll get support for GOOD LUCK CHUCK too. Keep up the good work.

I did have a problem with WAR. I don't know if I'm not giving my Sony DRX-820U enough time to spin up with the blank discs or not. At first, Fab failed to see the blank disc. Maybe the drive wasn't ready? I waited a few seconds, then clicked OK or whatever, and got a "Failed to Burn" error. I put another blank disc in, and the drive was spinning loudly before I tried to burn, but I got the same "Failed to Burn" error.

I'm wondering if there is some slight incompatibility between the software and USB drives, or if I'm causing a problem by not waiting long enough after inserting the blank media?

After apparently ruining two discs, I gave up and opened the files from the DVD Fab\Temp directory with DVD Shrink (my apologies for using free software) and successfully backed up my copy of the movie.

If you can tell me what I'm doing wrong, that would rock.

By the by, the retail version of WAR won't even play in my home DVD player. Near the end of the movie, it locks up, skips, and just starts over from the beginning. The disc itself is perfect--not a scratch or speck of dirt on it. Great copy protection. Perhaps in the future, you can just make my DVD player explode and take out the whole family.[/quote]

question about this program. I may download and buy the Platinum soon, but how exactly does the DVD to PSP work? does it work pretty fast? or does it take a couple of hours like some programs do? i have been reading about programs like dvd9video.com that takes roughly 2 hours to do everything including the DVD Shrink instructions. Let me know.
