Forgot to mention I did a FULL backup with DVDFab, then was using DVD Shrink on the MAIN MOVIE only under Re-author. Compression was not working correctly on FULL or Re-author the first time round.

The deep analysis was done on the FULL backup. When it finished, compression was working correctly on both. I then did the MAIN MOVIE only under Re-author.

But as I stated, the compression was working on both. I just personally don't like going below 80% on DVD Shrink because it tends to sometimes get randomly blocky in the picture with rainbow pixilation(like in highly and poorly compressed DivX) or skip on the cheap players in my house, so I did the MAIN MOVIE using Re-author.

I also tried to do a split, & am still having problems.

I tried it with Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix (USA R1) - one of the same movies I had previously reported having problems splitting, since DVDFAB PLAT ver 4.

In standalone DVD players, it plays the WB logo & warnings, then freezes - no longer goes to main menu as it did before when I was having problems, where it would keep looping back to the menu when you press play movie. Pressing menu on the remote will not take you to the menu - remains frozen.

In my LiteOn DVD recorder, it plays the logo & warnings, then freezes - if I hit menu on the remote, it will go to main menu & then allow me to play movie when I press play movie.

Plays fine in a PC - on disc 2, I had checked jump to split title, & it did in a PC, but won't on DVD players.

(There is something that DVD players can't read or get past, it seems.)

Also, with PathPlayer enabled, it is taking about 4 or 5 passes of the green bar to load the DVD source - before this update, it was taking only 2 passes with PathPlayer enabled.

It also took much longer to rip Order of the Phoenix - I had PathPlayer always enabled this time, but not last time - is that normal?

(I've not changed anything in my configuration or setup.)

Has anyone else tried Split Mode?

I also had problem with 3:10 TO YUMA using CUSTOMIZE to split to 2 discs,i.e. disc 1 chap 1-12,disc 2 ch 13-25. Went back to PLAT 3.1.7.6 and had no problem.

Want to say this is first version in a long time that CLONE MODE works flawless. But i do notice 4.0.4.0 burns to DVD slower so i load the ISO in old faithful 3.1.8.0 and top speed burning. Did all the new movies no problem like White Noise 2, Joshua, Hatchet, 3:10 to Yuma and Death Sentence. My path Player was on enable when neccessary until i hit the default button. Default is enable always on. Clones the best i seen yet but program burns slower then others. Like i said i load 4.0.4.0 Clone ISO into 3.1.8.0 and burn the DL at 7.5x on 2.5x media.

Hi, I'm new here as you can tell from my huge post count... but I've searched and can't seem to figure out if DVDFab Platinum supports Blu-Ray and HD-DVD or if it's just DVDFab HD Decrypter that does this.

If Platinum does not support Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, why not?? Thx

Hi Fengtao, finally managed to borrow the NEXT movie (R2, Czech) and try it again. Couldnt try the latest Platinum version as my trial version has expired so tried the free version of DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.0.4.0. Beta. Indexing the disc alright this time. But if I chose Full disc back-up, there was always some error after about 80 percent of ripping. Please find IFO files attached to this post. However, managed to rip the main movie without menus and bonuses. So thanx big time. Well done. Great work from U.

Hello again people ! Just wanted to tell all that with this version I was able to back up Rush Hour 3, 3:10 to Yuma, and White Noise 2. I did all three in the full disk mode with pathplayer enabled. Also, to remove the warnings and jump to the first main chapter. Thanks Fengtao and Ting again for a great product. Now I have to download the next update, lol. Can't wait to see what this one will do. But I felt I should say that I was able to burn those movie's with this version. There seems to be so much trouble getting them backed up. Yes Virgina, it can be done. LOL !! ~ Mike
