There are likely a good amount of DVDFab Gold/Platinum users who prefer to use DVD Shrink. You noted that not all people use DVD Shrink to avoid paying for software but the program is a tried and true accepted very good piece of software so can you fault anyone for using it? On top of being good it's free! There's an enormous bonus and doesn't make people cheapskates for using it. I know quite a few users of it, myself.

DVD Shrink isn't my cup of tea but it doesn't make it a bad choice and if the only problem with continuing to use it is that the output from any particular ripper must be compliant then I don't see that as being a major problem. DVD Shrink just happens to be pretty strict.

I'm just happy to see DVDFab offer a frequently updated freeware solution and it's limitations are completely understandable considering it's free. It also acts as an advertising tool which can lead to more sales. That's not bad, either. In the end, everyone makes out.

I agree and it sure keeps the name Fab on the tip of your tounge when someone asks about a program to try.
