No the movie plays fine, its just makes a weird noise when the menus come up. It was also in the rip version too. Maybe its just part of the menu background music?

Hello Fengtao, it nice to see all the effort put in program.

However one small problem with Transformers (Two disc special edition) it doesn't read the disc and also it doesn't allow me to select another disc without closing program.

Transformers is HD DVD edition, and it is not hybird as well.

Forgot to mention it doesn't work with 4.0.1.2 either

A smart thing to do is Install the latest DVDFab Platinum(I.E. DVDFab 4.0.1.6 Beta), but keep DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.8.0 installed for the movies that give you trouble like pirates #3. Best of both worlds until this issue is fixed.

Or since the New DVDFab HD Decrypter4 uses a different folder name when it installs you could have two DVDFab HD Decrypter's installed at the same time. One in the DVDFab HD Decrypter4 folder and one in the DVDFab HD Decrypter3 folder. So 4.0.1.6 and 3.1.8.0 could be both installed on your PC. I think that would work??

All,

I currently have both versions installed using 2 different folders. No problems so far.

Disable Pathplayer, Enable Pathplayer when necessary, and Aways enable Pathplayer. All three options had similar problems as before. The Always Enable Pathplayer seemed to have the fewest hits.

I'm sorry I didn't get around to trying it sooner, I had some things to take care of here at home, getting ready for the snow that just showed up.

I will send the data to you at the dvdidle.com address so you can review it.

Thanks for trying to fix the problem. I really appreciate you taking the time. Looks like there has been progress.

Sincerely,

i'm just about to try 4.0.1.6 Beta with Pirates of the Caribbean World's End (remember i also had DVD Rebuilder failures with this movie in the Corrupt Source thread, prior to this Beta being released). are you guys saying i should untick the new 'remove useless cells' tickbox if i don't want Rebuilder to fail ????? (it seems to me that this option should be only ticked FOR movies that will fail in Rebuilder ie it seems the opposite of what i would have expected).

I shan't be amused if i pick the wrong option and Rebuilder fails after another 4hours

edit- i will rip it twice, once ticked and once unticked, am taking no chances this time, though i haven't got 3.1.8.0 with me otherwise i'd trust that more

Unchecking the box should make it work better with Rebuilder as I understand it. Why not try short rips of just a few chapters to test (although it might not catch them all).

i'm ripping it both ways, hopefully one or the other will work; none of this would matter if the motherboard wasn't dead on my shiny new Quad Core PC, ie DVD Rebuilder would be finishing (or failing for that matter) much, much quicker if that machine was in use so until then i've got to endure 4hour attempts each time

Cheers Alan, Happy Holidays back at you.
This tickbox is a pain in the behind, though i suppose if we can rely on it, and a given movie that's popped in the drive is deemed (by us) to need the magic of DVD Rebuilder, then it's just a case of remembering to untick the box in that instance. Had become real accustomed to ripping movies the easy way, it's a shame when we have to remember to tick or not tick something, and the consequences and hassle if we get it wrong

@creaky - it is easy to see if DVDRB will accept it - take your output from Fab and see if there are any tiny cells that are only 2k in length (use VobBlanker for this). If so, DVDRB will choke on it, as each cell must have some video in it and DVDRB reports a mismatch between the IFOs and the VOBs (which are empty save for a navpack).

No need to encode at all.

Regards

How do you download 3.1.8.0 without over writing 4.0.1.6? Sorry Newbee.

It will copy to a different folder , you will have both versions, whenever a Version number changes it copies to a separate folder.

Okay, with "Remove useless cells" unchecked Fab got to 99.98% of the main movie of "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" R1 and choked on a read error. I than enabled Pathplayer and still got the read error. If I check "Remove useless cells" Fab goes to completion.

I just bought this title and have not backed it up yet. I will try it today and see what happens for me.

@CDRipper
I have the single disc edition. I tried it both ways (checked and unchecked, Using Full Disc and Customize/No Menus and had no problems. Fast read (7 MB/s) and no hiccups. Info page reports >40 unplayable cells and all sorts of other protection. What a mess. I have the read ahead cache disabled. Maybe a bad spot on your original disc?

What are folks doing with DVD Rebuilder? I have it, been registered paid for it some time ago. I haven't found a use for it given what DVDFab can do all by itself. It obviously does a great deal and I'm not bashing it. I just don't need it. So what is it people are using it for that they are having issues with the output of DVDFab?
