| Hi again Mark...I think I may have inadvertantly, lead you astray, First off, delete the incomplete .ISO file on your hdd, it's just confusing things. Put your original hockey disc in your burner and once Fab analyzes it, just click on the .ISO icon on the same line as target. Then, browse to your hdd and choose this as your target. You shouldn't have to navigate or choose any files off the original...just leave your burner as the source (you need the entire disc as source). Also, we recommend not posting your email addy on a forum as you may get spammed. We prefer to keep dialogue going on the forum so everyone benefits.

| Thanks for great work, However I still am getting an A/V sync problem with Meet the Robinson's US Widescreen version when I try to convert to IPOD MPEG4. I have tried using all of the IPOD settings (MPEG4 vs. H.264) and the A/V sync probo is the same. The audio is ahead apr. 15-20 frames of the video for the entire movie. Your help would be awesome. Thanks. |
| Tried to perform a DVD to DVD Customize and received the following error: Failed to create directory. C:\Users\tophi\Documents\DVDFab\Customize\Customize\:\ Looks as if the program is trying to create a directory with an invalid name. Any ideas? tophi72

| tophi72, did you change the default output directory? do you have other rips saved in the default directory? if the answer to both is no, open my documents and delete the dvdfab folder. open dvdfab and go to settings, general and enter this in output directory. C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\DVDFab\ troy |
| Hi tophi72, Could you please check the volume name of the disc in Explorer window? Best Regards, Fengtao

| Hey Guys im new here but have used DVDfab for a long time.Thankyou so much for your efforts. My problem is Ratatouille .I couldnt make a backup Disney / pixar are always changing encryption. I downloaded the new 4.0.0.8 but it doesnt do the movie either in full or movie only. Is this issue being fixed or what do I do? thanks |
| Try turning off pathplayer. |
| Thanks QuickDraw I just saw that in another post I'll try that. This movie seems to be a problem .Reading another thread devoted to this movie. |
| removal of fbiiiie thingy doesn't work. Tried on 2 movies so far and yes pathfinder was turned on. ratatouile burned fine and so did chuck and larry and deck the halls. Thanks for all your work! |
| Hi, Just rejoined the forum after being away for a few years. Still the best forum around! Purchased DVDFab Platinum and want to say thanks for a great product! MSNwar |
| And I'd just leave it off. I think Pathplayer is more for newer unknown protection, so the algorithm it uses takes longer to analyze. Use it only when your having problems without it. I'm sure the DVDFAB people are on top of this and will soon have the bug fixed. Cheers! |

should have looked closer. you are using vista, i use xp. the directory might be different. |

I tryed pathplayer on and off neither worked maybe a fix soon. Ive tryed movie only and full but aways fails.I know the guys on here will get it soon. I did just try version 3.2.1.0 of DVDfab and put the I/O mode to SPTI and movie only and it seems to be copying it. Just playing around might have it .I let you know |
| Can these version 4s be installed over the version 3s or is an un-install necessary?

Thanks for your quick reply. Just got your post this morning. I will check out the volume name of the disc in the Explorer window this evening and get back to you. I was trying to DVD to DVD Customize the Spider-Man Animated series DVD which includes 6 episodes on disc one. I selected all six episodes and clicked OK and received the Failed to create directory. C:\Users\tophi\Documents\DVDFab\Customize\Customize\:\ . This is the first time I've tried to use the Customize option, so this directory was never present in the default DVDFab directory. I noticed then, that the Customize directory was created, so I tried again, but I received the same error second time around. Error repeats on attempts. I haven't change the default DVDFAb output directory at all. I don't have any current rips saved in the default directory, so I will try and delete the dvdfab folder and re-enter the output directory in the general settings. I will get back to you on the volume label of the disc later today. Thanks. ps. I kinda remember that the disc label was rather generic - something like DVD("something"). I will re-confirm.

| Thank You for a new great version! But why are the great features of the Nintendo DS (DPG) conversion still hidden? There are a lot free space to include this on the first page (I have no problem with the space when I add the feature). Everyone that tests this great program has problem finding it and they think it's an error... Please, please.. add this simple feature on the first menu so people dont have to search for it... |
| This is the first version that works with Linux via wine. I only tried the hd decrypter and it is still somewhat flacky but it will complete as long as you let it and do not try to do anything else as it will hang the x-server. Also on one note and I am not sure if this is a bug or not but K9copy will not shrink the folder with a dvdauthor error but at this point I am happy we finally have at least this working. If the dev team would like I can add a desktop icon for them to add into the installer for us linux users as most of us know where to go looking. |
| @DarinV have you checked out this thread, there are a few of us working with DVDFab on Linux http://club.cdfreaks.com/f116/dvdfab...-linux-220283/ The latest beta 4.0.0.8 may not be as stable as 4.0.0.0 still testing I am having problem running the files from the same disc through DVD Shrink which worked on the previous version. |
| Hi Big-Xman I think the problem is that the DVD to Mobile navigation bar only holds 7 devices at a time. I have added new material to the Tutorial here and here to hopefully make it clear that support for more devices is built in to DVDFab and make it easier to find out how to add them. Maybe the navigation bar can be changed to hold more in a future version. Quote:

| I have not seen that thread wildchild88...I'm alittle more of a linux user as I am the maker of the SuperGamer series of Livedvd's. My personal desktop is something I made and what would become the basic pclinuxos P8. I did not try the beta 4 stuff as I was waiting on the release to come out but from a wild hair I decided to give it a try. I have the platinum working also under wine with this new version. I do have both of the desktop icons made so users can just click it as long as they have wine so I can throw those into the mix if anyone wants them |
| Hi Fengtao, Thanks for your great work. With Zune player getting pretty cheap, can you add conversion from DVD to Zune? Right now, I have to convert twice, once with DVDFab then with Zune software which I assume from MPEG4 to WMV. Thanks again. |
| After running some tests of 4.0.0.8 on Linux and having issues with the movie The Break-up full movie mode. The ripped files made DVD Shrink choke with the out of memory error. The same files cleaned with VobBlanker had no problem, so I decided to test this on Windows XP. Again Shrink could not process the ripped files without cleaning. Ripit4Me made easy work of his title on Linux and Windows. Is this a bug orjust a DVD Shrink issue? Thanks again for the great work Fengtao. |

| > I think the a/v sync problem must be in one or some special DVD, if you can > tell me Volume name of the problem DVD, I can try to check it and fixed the > problem. generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy AV sync problems occur even with ISO's copied onto HDD with DVDdecrypter on several different DVD's. But Vista Media Center can't play the Audio stream and i'm only playing them with Media Player Classic. So maybe it's the player. Same thing happens on 2 different machines though. > you can uncheck the option of "Create file in subfolders of output directory " in > common settins - geneal, so you can get your file in your specify folder > directly. The idea I had is so that you can put all avi chapters of one disc in one folder and specify the folder name and filenames for each disc. Bug? If you put a folder name in the filename box it goes through the motions very quickly and doesn't output anything. eg "Neil Young\Red Rocks" The idea behind copying to the HDD and then compressing via some batch engine is to make it easy for the user. This client can't even type properly. My client want's to read in 300 of his Music DVD's and play songs (chapters) at random. To make this as easy as possible without opening ISO's or DVD folders and compressing them individually would be great. To have a batch system that quickly reads from the DVD-Drive and compresses overnight and THEN delete's the data it read from the drive, leaving just the generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy files would be excellent. Sorry to be so demanding and sorry to others for posting this here, not sure how to start new threads yet. |
