het fengtao and tingjust tried the new update but i get a crash problem when copying from harddrive or trying to make a psp file when i push start i get the crash problem please help me out

I will try that next. I have many movies on my hd, I will try and replicate your problem. What settings did you use?

Hello Fengtao, Concerning 4,0,0,8b and CLONE MODE since version 3,1,8,0 CLONE mode has suffered. Here is a log of the movie " RATATOUILLE". Now i created a CLONE ISO which was a succes. However when i try to write the CLONE ISO which is a succes using DVDFab in WRITE DATA mode you can not burn a clone copy of this movie. ( There are others too ). Also Pathfinder is disabled because if enabled it will not even make a CLONE ISO. However you can make a FULL DISC copy but im into your software for cloning D5 or D9's. If the original is a D9 i clone to D9 if original is D5 ( Which is very few I clone to D5 ). The original movie is 7.76gb, The CLONE ISO created is also 7.76gb however you can't burn it. I will post a log below. I will dissemble the ISO and look what maybe the cause which i have a idea as why the FULL DISC mode works and your CLONE mode does'nt.

It seems after some tests that this beta working for me. Glad to see some usefull new futures. GREAT IDEA !

Now reconized, that double pass has more fps than single pass.

Ok no help here with my reboot problem with this version? No comment? I didn't have this problem with the previous beta 4.0.0.0 that I had just updated.. I am going to try the 4.0.0.5 version in a few.. but I have to finish what I am doing currently since it might reboot on me.

P.S. What it looks like to me is with all the junk on this DVD if you go to clone it the layer breaks are to large, I will see what you have to say. In the mean time i will dissemble the ISO, Thank you.

I'm new to this stuff (DVD copying...) so I need a little help on some easy answers that I don't quite understand on using the software before I purchase it.
I had a DVD with some sort of encoding "SecuROM with something from Sony called DADC" which I've tried numerous programs and all have failed miserably.
DVD Fab Platium (beta 4.0.0.5) is the ONLY PROGRAM that came through with flying colors! Congrats on a job well done.
In copying DVD to DVD, I click "Full Disk" and both check marks (copy DVD video and copy non-video files) and leave the default DVD5 below, which I know nothing about that vs. DVD9...?
Can you please direct me to a basic manual or post a reply here as to what is my best way to just "copy DVD to DVD" and in a fast way so I don't screw something up? I thought I wrote a .iso file last night, but for some reason burning it back to a DVD only copied a "Audio & Video directory" with only video files in it, and no other "non-video files" such as the .exe, etc. back to the DVD that was burned from the .iso file, which was only 2864kb in size.
I did something wrong, but need to know: 1.) how to create a .iso file so it will burn a DVD complete just like a DVD to DVD copy does and 2.) what is the DVD5 vs. DVD9 for and do I use it for copying DVD to DVD for better quality or what?
PLEASE reply ASAP as I'm in the middle of a project and need answers quickly.

Hello Fengtao, The only way i was able to make a CLONE of the movie RATATOUILLE is to take the ISO DVDFab 4,0,0,8 made and extract the entire ISO. I used UltraISO for this task. Then with the complete movie files in a dir on my HDD i took a program called ImgBurn and used build mode. What this did was take the entire DVD files i extracted from DVDFab's ISO files and it re-built another ISO. With this new ISO created with ImgBurn i deleted the Layer Break info file which leaves me with a ISO that has the original layer break when loaded into ImgBurn. I then burned the ISO to a DL at 8x and thats all she wrote. I went through all of this because you should be able to CLONE as its in your software. I understand this is beta, But want you to be aware that CLONE mode has been lacking and not only in 4008b, I seen it in 4005b. Yes 4008b does do a great Full Disc copy however you know as well as i do Full Disc and Clone are close but not the same. Hope you have this CLONE bug fixed when you get around to it, Thank you Mr.G

When you use clone do you have pathplyer disabled, if not try it with it disabled and see the results.

I think (because its working fine for me) that this is not a problem of DVDFab.
I would try to download again same file to see, if problems solved.
It's not easy to help you, most people own too different systems (Hardware, and so on...)
BTW: Please make sure, that you only download from fengtao's link.

Yes its disabled, I only use enabled when i have too, However tried it both ways, If you read above i stated that if you use enabled it will fail even making a cloned ISO.

Found this comment on doom9 news section:

"DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.0.0.5 .....If you're interested in HD media, keep in mind that once you play the first MKBv4 title, DVDFab HD Decrypter will no longer work on any of your titles."

Does this mean that you can insert the disk to decode it but you will get revoked if you "play the disk"? ...i.e. important to disable autoplay???

So, should this be an important note? DON'T PLAY MKBv4 DISKS IN YOUR PC???

A client of mine wants to get all his Music Concert DVD's (300 of them) onto his hard drive (1TB) and play songs at random. DVDfab Platinum Beta 4.0.0.0 is the only software I have seen that can do this with the Split by Chapter. He wants the Audio un-changed and the DVD to Mobile (Generic - Xvid,Audiocopy) is perfect for this.
However, I have been getting AV sync problems, progessivly worse towards the end of the DVD. This happens on my machine (XP Pro, Athlon XP2500, LG GSA-4120B Burner) and his (Vista 32bit, AMD 64X2 4800, 4GB RAM, HP DVD burner).
Get this fixed and we would like to buy it straight away, he'll pay nearly anything for it
Your dual threading works well on a dual core cpu!
Suggestions:
In the options sections:
To be able to specify output directory/naming just like in DVDdecrypter (semi-automatic is brilliant). I don't like "generic" being inserted.
To be able to specify xvid bitrate, passes, split options as defaults.
To select different codecs other than xvid, passthrough audio or audio codec. I realise this is much more work.

And finally, which i'm sure is majorly hard to be able to do is to tell it to read the DVD to hard drive (temp location) and then compress off hard drive, Maybe even batch processing so you can line up dvd's one after another and then let it work overnight

First off, I took a look at your other post...yikes...$70 bucks for your son's hockey dvd and it got trashed. Now you've spent another $70....
No wonder you want to create a bkup!

There is a Fab tutorial that should help you out.
Click on the "?" icon...upper right as the application opens and you can access the guide. Go through this and then you can post back if you have questions.

Clone mode is your best option for creating a bit for bit copy of the original. This mode will "automatically" create an .ISO regardless
The problem here is that clone mode will not compress the files, so that if the original exceeds 4.38GB..it won't fit on an SL (or Single Layer "standard") blank dvd. For a non-compressed copy that exceeds 4.38 GB, you'll need a DL (Dual Layer) disc
SL = 4.38 GB
DL = 8.5 GB
Your burner must be DL capable...most recently manufactured burners are DL capable.

Do you know the size of the dvd you wish to copy?
You can create a compressed .ISO of this disc as well.
(See screen shot below)

My bet is, you'll do fine compressing it and burning to an SL disc. Good quality SL media can be purchased easily for $0.25 or less per disc.

Try to purchase Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.
Verbatim can be found at many in-store retailers...bestbuy, staples, officemax, etc., and online. Taiyo Yuden is excellent, but you'd have to purchase online.
The only DL media that's consistently recommended is Verbatim +R DL.
These will probably run you $1.50-3.00, cheaper if you shop for sales.

Can DVDFab Platinum versions 4.0.0.8 and 3.1.0.8 coexist without problems? Assuming they are installed in their respective directories and not running simultaneously. I've noticed that they share the same prefs; if a setting is changed in 4.x the change will also be effective when 3.x is next launched. Wonder if there will be any registry confusion between the two.

Have been using both this way and have had problems; failed burns, DL issues. But I think it may be a failing Lite-On burner, not the fact that both versions are installed. Have done a complete deinstall and cleanup and will be installing a new buner. The question is, should both be reinstalled or just one? Thanks for any tips.

that last step is easy. use full disc copy from DVD to HD, close fab, then reopen it & use the HD folder as your source when you do the generic - compression thing.

YOU may also want to check out VOB passthru ( t the bottom of the generic options list) - that preserves all of the audio streams, wheras what you are currently doins only gives you stereo audio.

I planned to do a similar project, on a smaller scale, so I did lots of options testing, but finally I opted to just copy all my concert DVDs to a 500gb USB drive, ( losing any annoying warning screens on the way) , and open them as needed with powerDVD.

IF you want to convert DVD to avi, with stereo audio only, thn look at IMtoo ripper platinum - it only does mp3 audio with Divx compression but the AV sync is excellent. Use DVDfab initially to get the HD decrypted & onto HD then use imtoo to compress individual chapters. You can then compress 2 chapters at once & get 100% CPU utilisationon a dual core PC. It willl also batch process , so you could set it up to crunch lots of DVDs overnight once you've put them onto your HD to use as source files. Start a new thread if you want to discuss in more detail as it does not really belong here.

I think the a/v sync problem must be in one or some special DVD, if you can tell me Volume name of the problem DVD, I can try to check it and fixed the problem.

you can uncheck the option of "Create file in subfolders of output directory " in common settins - geneal, so you can get your file in your specify folder directly.

You can select a default profile for all your favorite settings and you would not need do any change everytime. you can find a "set as default" button in Mobile Configure window, just specify your setting, like "Split by chapter"
and then click this button, you will get a profile, and everytime when you add title, DVDFab will use this profile automatically.

If you want use other codec, just tell me, of course, we need some time to add it.

as cybmole said, you can use this very easy, just rip your DVDs to HD. and convert them once time, of course, I hope you are using DVDFab Platinum

Thanks for your report, I have forwarded your burning log to VSO, let's wait their reply.

For "Clone" mode, there is no need to turn off "PathPlayer", since "Clone" will not use it.

"PathPlayer" helps DVDFab to remove structure protection, and does extra job like changing Navigation.

Clone mode will only remove RC, RCE, UOPs protection from IFO files, it will not remove structure protection (it has no effect for playback), since it need change the file system structure.

Thank you Fengtao for your fast responce, And let's see what VSO has to say. However in CLONE MODE if pathplayer is not turned off DVDFab will NOT create a cloned ISO. Once i disabled pathplayer then DVDFab created a clone ISO however the ISO was no good as i had to do what you read above to make a clone copy of that movie, Again thank you for a very fast responce.

yes this update version is getting mad i cant copy my harddrive movies and i cant even create a pspfile whats wrong here i went back to version 3210 i didnt have any problems with that one so yeah just wait untill FENGTAO & TING get this fixed

Also in the latest DvdFab (4.0.0.8) some messages in main window are not localized

This problem is in place since a lot oftime. Please add them in language file.

The sound fileneme path shows in setup is showed as short name (with ~)

I mailed you ifo's and crash report for Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End R2 Disc 1 German to email adress which program wants to send crash reports. I used Split Mode.

I have had some success and some failure with the BluRay discs. I am sure it will be resolved. As for other titles that are not BluRay or HD, I am sure the next release will have fixes for them. Pathplayer is a new technology and needs time to mature, that is why their are betas. Thanks to you all for helping.

Again, thanks for the help on my situation. It helps to have people out there that know something about things you know nothing about, like myself.
By the way, the total size of the DVD (USA Hockey) is 2.4GB so compression isn't an issue.
I still cannot figure out "how to make a .ISO file and have tried what you mentioned. If I'm doing it right, it did make one file but size was only 2864kb, which doesn't sound right. I clicked those icons (upper right corner you circled) and browsed the entire DVD for a .ISO file, but none. The one .ISO file it created somehow (?) was under documents/DVDFab/ISO/USAHOCKEY.iso which is the one that is only 2864kb.
If this is right, do I insert this file in the "source" and try to burn copy from it to the same drive which is E drive on my laptop?
I'm lost... all I can do for now until I get this stuff down is put in the hockey DVD, click full disc, check both boxes (copy DVD-Video & the box below (copy non-DVD files) to make it work. It keeps popping up a window stating that this directory already exists, overwrite? I just tell it "yes" and go ahead. Saying NO doesn't do anything.
Still need some help here. Maybe email back and forth would work better instead of cluttering up the forum here... ? Let me know.
