Dear all,

DVDFab products 3.1.9.5 Beta is out (Sep 24, 2007):

DVDFab Platinum 3.1.9.5 Beta:
http://www.dvdfab.com/DVDFabPlatinum3195Beta.exe

DVDFab Gold 3.1.9.5 Beta:
http://www.dvdfab.com/DVDFabGold3195Beta.exe

DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.9.5 Beta:
http://www.dvdfab.com/DVDFabHDDecrypter3195Beta.exe

What's New:

3.1.9.5 Beta (Sep 24, 2007)
- New: Improved "PathPlayer". Please note when "PathPlayer" is enabled, opening a DVD may need up to several minutes, which is much longer than before.
- New: Added setting options for "PathPlayer".
- New: Added support for a new copy protection as found on "Blade: House of Chthon" (US).
- New: Updated language files.

3.1.9.2 Beta (Sep 18, 2007):
- New: Improved "PathPlayer" to handle DVD with BOV (button over video).
- New: Removed unreferenced VTS and PGC for clean DVD structure and better compression.
- New: Program is signed now for security.
- Fix: Endless opening time in certain cases when "PathPlayer" works.
- Fix: Some DVD content may be removed when "PathPlayer" works.
- Fix: "Encoding FPS" info is wrong for "DVD to Mobile".
- Fix: AAC encoding bitrate is wrong for "DVD to Mobile".
- Fix: Audio data is removed in "VOB passthrough" when selecting LPCM stream for "DVD to Mobile".

3.1.9.0 Beta (Sep 14, 2007):
- New: Brand new "PathPlayer" technology which gives DVDFab the ability to copy DVD content only allowed to be played on a real DVD player. In this way, DVDFab will ignore unplayed content which may contain copy protection.
- New: Added support for a new copy protection as found on "Bridge to Terabithia", (R2, German).
- New: Added support for a new copy protection as found on "Curse of the Golden Flower", (R2, UK).
- New: Brand new "DVD to Mobile" framework which gives DVDFab the ability to take the power of dual core (or more cores) CPU. Our test shows the H.264 encoding on dual core system speeds up to 200%.
- New: "DVD to Mobile" feature uses a lot of of open source libraries, like FFmpeg, x264, xvid, liba52, faac, lame, etc. DVDFab is compatible with open source GPL/LGPL license, and thanks for the help of open source community.

How "PathPlayer" works?
"PathPlayer" works like a real DVD player, it follows every play path of a DVD, visits every thing that you can access on DVD player with a remote controller. When "PathPlayer" finishes, we can know all the DVD content that a real DVD player will read. The copy protection exists in the unplayed DVD content, DVDFab will not read it when copying.

Note: "PathPlayer" is a very powerful technology. We have done test with all our discs which means it's very stable now. But it's completely new so if you encounter problem that some DVD content is not copied, please tell us, thanks!

Best Regards,
Fengtao

With DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.9.5 beta when copying Blade - House of Chthon.

Quote:
15:04:39 Analyzing of DVD started
15:04:39 Analyzing of DVD completed successfully
15:04:39 Copy process started

15:04:40 Process failed!
With DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.9.5 beta when copying BloodRayne 2 - Deliverance.

It dies right at the beginning of the process with both movies. The PathPlayer setting doesn't matter. This problem only crops up when using DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.9.5 beta.

Is this movie worth getting? I like the earlier Blade movies with Wesley Snipes.

IMHO, yes. I watched the series on Spike TV and really liked it. What you need to do is forget about the existing Blade movies and take the show for what it is. At first the fight scenes may seem a bit lacking but if you watch the pilot and then had access to the rest of the episodes [which is 10 more] you'd see a developing plot. I liked the show a lot and wish it had been given a chance to mature with at least a second season if not more. Sadly, it never happened.

Note: I edited my previous post. I'm having issues with both Blade - House of Chthon and BloodRayne 2 - Deliverance with the new 3.1.9.5 beta. DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.9.2 beta worked on BloodRayne 2 - Deliverance. This happens with both my Plextor PX-708A & Plextor PX-760A drives.

My problems seem to be the new beta release. The unfortunate problem is I can't seem to copy any DVDs with it. Blade - House of Chthon fails, BloodRayne 2 - Deliverance fails, Blade fails, Blade II fails, The Matrix fails, The Matrix Reloaded fails.

I even went so far as to try a DVD by the name of Sex Traffic from BBC Home Video that is region free and has no CSS or RCE protection. This title is absolutely 100% unprotected and it fails while reading the VIDEO_TS.VOB.

All failures are the same as I posted above Task_1 failed! Error=102(VIDEO_TS.VOB....

BloodRayne 2 - Deliverance just continued to be scanned by DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.8.0 endlessly so it wasn't useable. DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.9.0 beta and 3.1.9.2 beta both took some time but read the disc and were able to make a backup. DVDFab HD Decrypter 3.1.9.5 beta reads the disc and dies when copying the VIDEO_TS.VOB as it does with every other disc I tried.

Just as a note, yes, I uninstalled the latest beta and tried earlier versions before making this posting. Unfortunately, on my system the problem is definitely the new beta.

Alright. I resolved my problem. This is an odd one.

I disabled the read-ahead cache under Common Preferences | DVD | Read | Cache Control. Disabling the read-ahead cache made the problem vanish.

I've never touched that setting before so I don't know why it would begin to cause problems now.

I've found that the Xvid encoding on this beta and the previous beta gives really poor results:

After a 2 pass the resulting AVI is heavily artefacted, whereas in the stable release the quality is good.

It does however seem to fix the out of sync audio problem i had with episode 3 from From the Earth to the Moon (R1).

I had no problems with ripping Blade HoC with this version. DLaD, that is VERY bizarre that you had to disable the read ahead cache. I'm glad it works for you but that's truly odd.

No kidding. I was ready to have a coronary when I saw that even unprotected discs wouldn't copy.

Ah well, I just kept tinkering and for the heck of it disabled it and and voila. Sucks that now I can't use the read-ahead cache though.

Error code 400 is a transcoding error. Beyond that I have no idea about specifics.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for another great update. Keep up the good work.
I love the fact that the program doesn't default to drive c: anymore. One less step when installing.

You know me and the stupid suggestions, but, just for fun, did you try rebooting?
