Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta Hi Fengtao / Ting. I've just copied a music DVD to Ipod and the speed was fantastic. One issue you might want to look at though - The sound bit rate was set at 128kbps, however the end result seems to have it at 64 kbps - and the quality definately sounds worse. I've tried several different settings and it always seems to come out that way. Thanks for the great work !

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta While I have not yet loaded 3.1.9.0 I am happy that Fentago has finally eliminated or minimized the need to Reboot after every program upgrade. Very time consuming and in most cases, not needed. Thanks

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta Great product. I love the multithreading, it is such a step up. Thanks. I have come across a couple of problems though. When in the 'Generic' mode, audiocopy still does not work. I copied 'The Waterboy' to xvid.audiocopy and tried to import the video to Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 but came back with the message saying that the audio rate was not supported. So I tried with 256 kps mp3 and it came had the same result. Just thought you all should know. Keep up the great work.

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta I had a similar problem today with a guitar lessons DVD. Fab describes the origianl audio stream as language=undefined PCM/2. A DVD to DVD full copy works OK, but when I try to extract a few chapters with either generic & vob passthru options the output files have no sound. ( but I'm using 3.1.8.0, not the new beta, so your sound problem is probably not something introduced in the beta,)

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta hi, cybmole what player is your using, maybe your player cannot play LPCM correctly, you can try VLC or other player to see the result.[/QUOTE] I tried all of my players: windows media player, PowerDVD 7, xplayer (Massgrid.com). none of them could produce any audio. I then did the same extract using DVDshrink re-author & that method DID give me audio. So I think it's a problem with how FAb works & not with my media players. Please see the attached screen grab of FAb's processing window. Is it normal to see "undefined " on the audio line ?

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta PS - if I take the same 2 chapters from the same DVD but do it by using DVD to DVD Customise rather than DVD to mobile generic or vob passthro, then everything works OK. i.e. I ran customise, then copied the .vob file from the output folder & tested that as a stand-alone file. It had OK audio. So Customise preserved the audio but vob passthrough did not . The problem has occurred only this particular DVD ( so far anyway). I've extracted successfully like this from other DVDs, with the same 3.1.8.0 version of fab

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta Hi, I just installed the new Beta on my Vista machine (purchased the key too). I am trying to copy my old "The Matrix" DVD for my PSP. The copy process seems to have hung at 3.16 percent. The encoding FPS line is reading 161.22, Percent 3.16, Task Time Elapsed 00:34:19, Task Time Left 00:24:31. The main line is reading Task 1/1, Total Time Elapsed 00:08:42. While the DVD and hard disk have been spinning pretty much constantly, the Core 1 and Core 2 CPU usage is very low (typically around idle). I selected the default PSP settings, then bumped the audio to 64 (was 24, I think), and set the video to 512 (was 768, I think). Probably something stupid on my end. I haven't seen any error messages

| Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta hi, cybmole I just checked the code of vobpassthrough when select a lpcm audio stream, I am sorry there are a bug, so you cannot play it correctly, which will be fixed in next version. Thanks very much for you report. Quote:
The fps now is not correct, but I am not sure what is your problem, but I think maybe there are some problem when read your DVD data. please try other DVD first. Thanks.

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta OMFG! Talk about a fast response!!! I think things are working better now, although I need to hit myself on the head for changing too much between different trials because I can't pinpoint what fixed my situation yet... I had to use the task manager to cancel DVDFab. I then selected the "Run this program as an administrator" in the Compatibility tab for the DVDFabPlatinum.exe program (when the program installed it had the little Vista "shield" icon on the right hand side, which is a visual clue that I've always associated with a program that has "Run as Administrator" set, but when I actually checked, it was not set). I then rebooted my PC. On restarting DVDFab, I selected PSP mode this time but made no changes (all defaults values). Now this time DVDFab seems to be working just fine. The Elapsed time is running at a normal rate (before, it was just bumping by 1 tick after many seconds had elapsed) and I am no longer stuck at 3%. Just an observation, the CPU usage on my machine (an Intel Core 2 6700 with 3 GB of RAM) is no where near maxed out; I'd say it is averaging around 30% per core. Also DVD access and Hard Disk access seem minimal as well. Sorry, I should have known to set the "Run as Administrator" in Vista. But I will let this conversion run to completion then try changing some of the same options that I changed before and see if I can figure out if it was a setting, or just Vista access rights. Thanks Ting !!

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta Just to close the loop, I did run several more tests at different bit rates, audio encoding and with/without subtitles for the PSP. In all cases the recoding completed fine with no issues. I can only assume it was a Vista Administrators Rights issue that I corrected by selecting "Run as Administrator" I'm new to the DVDFab thing, but I didn't notice that changing the Audio Bitrate from 24 to 64 had any difference on the playback quality. Nor did it have any impact on the size of the recoded MP4 file. Likewise, changing the Video Format/Fixed Bitrate from 768 to 512 also did not seem to have an impact on the file size. Deselecting the subpicture did eliminate the sub-titles (which were on by default in my case) and resulted in a slight decrease in file size. Shouldn't I expect a drop in Video bitrate from 768 to 512 to have reduced the recoded MP4 size? The original (all default including subpicture selected) size was 458,785 KB. The one where I made sure the subpicture was not selected and reduced the video bit rate to 512 had a size of 485, 546 KB. I'm hoping that iPhone/iTouch settings show up sometime in the future. Thanks!

Re: DVDFab 3.1.9.0 Beta Thanks a lot Fengtao & Ting!!!! I've tested with "Perfect stranger" using DVDFAB Decr 3.1.9.0beta and Ripit4me. Both the movies seem to work with PowerDVD but the dimension of VIDEO_TS is various between dvafab and ripit. If you want to see "size list" and "ifo file" : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=775ZE3MX Bye
