- New: Installer will only ask for reboot, if a reboot is really necessary.

Good morning and thanks for your hard work.

We are making progress on the DVD to Mobile UI issues. But still not 100 percent. If you edit the device names, show text, etc., those changes do now show in the main menu. But if you change the order, do anything to make DVDFab update itself by closing and reopening, those changes go back to the defaults. So if I make the iPod text say, "Dad's iPod", it shows in the main menu as "Dad's iPod". If I change anything and DVDFab closes and reloads itself, the main menu and DVD to Mobile configuration settings goes back to iPod.

The editted text does not stay.

Also if you change the order of the devices, DVDFab reloads itself, and then only ONE mobile device is showing in the main menu, the one at the top of the list. The rest are in the "do not show" column. You have to add all those devices from the left "no show" column to the right "show" column.

Also on my computer it still asked to reboot.

A little bit more information.

It only over writes the edited "new" names if I change the order, move the device up or down, and it reloads DVDFab. Other reloading operations do not change the names back to defaults.

There is still no way to add more than one similiar device so I can't add 2 PVP devices, have a Zen and an Archos. Both are listed under PVP devices. NOT a big deal. Just would be nice to have more than one similiar device preset.

Also when working in the common settings DVD to Mobile screen, it highlights devices in both columns, the no show and the show columns. Its hard to tell which one you are trying to edit.

Another update! Thanks guys (I've got quite a bit of burning to do at the moment and the "no reboot" will come in handy today ).

I’m a new user of DVDFab, just bought the platinum version a few days ago. I’ve been using it a lot to merge my two disc movies to one. Now I don’t have to get off the sofa to change a disc right in the middle of a good part!
Great program!
This is my first revision with this program so I got a newbie question:
Do the new revisions install over the old ones? Is there a need to uninstall first?

Just install it right over top the old version, no need to uninstall if your not occuring any problems.

Fengtao & Co. this is not a biggie but when i install DVDFab Platinum on top the last one i include to have a Quick Launch icon and it never gets installed and i have to do it manually.

It's been doing this for 6 months + or whenever i installed and bought it.

I hereby verify the same behavior here with WinXP Pro and DVDFab Platinum 3.1.7.8 Beta.

I just downloaded and installed the 3.1.7.8 beta for DVDFab Gold. Upon initializing the first copy with this version, I noticed that it started off well (increasing in MB's per second quickly as it always does) but then dropped SUBSTANTIALLY (around 0.02mb/s). I thought that maybe my DVD drive had switched out of DMA mode so I attempted to reset the DMA. When trying, I received an error that said: " DVDFab has encountered a problem and needs to close." This happened several times, after both restarting the program and restarting my computer. The disc itself is in superb condition and plays great leading me to believe that maybe the problem is software-related. The disc is actually one that I burned yesterday without a problem (with the 7.6 version).

I am now going back to the previous full version (non-beta - 3.1.7.6) in hopes that the problem doesn't occur again. I would post my VSO_Crash report but there's nothing in there that shows what happened.

Can anyone explain what is happening and whether or not the problem is computer or program related?
